If it's for a girl, spell it as GABBIE. But if it's for a boy, I recommend GABBY. Here in the Philippines, one of the most famous actors is named Gabby Concepcion. His other namesake, Gabby Eigenmann, is a cutie that has girls all over the archipelago swooning.
By the way, Gabby Concepcion's real name is GABRIEL.
Hereabouts, if someone tells you that you "look like Gabby", take it as a compliment because it means "you are good-looking".
