If not, why not...? What happened...?

Was injuries, tough schedule, poor coaching, etc., a part of your fave football team not getting into the playoffs?

What changes would you like to see...?

As a NY Jets fan, I was pleasantly surprised at the NY Jets making it into the playoffs. It was amazing how the Jets even made it into the playoffs with Chad Pennington, after two serious operations during the pre-season and with a new head coach in Eric Mangini...J-E-T-S

What, or who, was the biggest surprise in football this year?

I'm a Steelers fan and happy we broke even. The injuries to Ben and others really helped to hold them back. Perhaps it was the Superbowl hangover as well. Other then maybe wanting to see the Ravens taken out of our confrence I'm pretty happy with things. Hopefully the turnover problem is over. That was another big issue this year for the Steelers. As to the biggest surprise this year, in my opinion, it was Steve McNair. I was expecting him to get hurt. Didn't think he still had that much in him either. The Ravens themselves aren't that suprising to me as I knew they were a good D, and an ok Offense. They mostly needed a QB and found one in McNair. As to those who will say the Saints, they had a LOSER QB in Aaron Brooks and got a GOOD QB in Brees this year. If Brooks was still leading the team they would proably be 2-14 this year, like he mostly lead the Raiders to this year. Also having McAllistar back this year helped them.

Oh and to the first guy tonight's game has NO EFFECT on the Playoffs. Green Bay was out with the Lions win among others. Going by one of the more surprising ones. I think the Bengals loss also pretty much set the AFC Playoffs other then maybe seeding.

My team won the NFC East with the Dallas loss to the Lions.

I think the biggest suprise this year was the New Orleans Saints. The way the Saints bounced back from last season, the way that Brees has responded from his injury and embraced not only the team but the city as his home - remarkable. And where did Marcus Colston come from? Forget about Reggie Bush, everybody knew he was going to be a star. How about Colston?

You guys have a great coach in Mangini. Good luck in the playoffs.

Out of the communities interior the 2008 playoffs: NFC- Giants Panthers Vikings Cardinals Falcons Eagles i think of that Arizona won't make it, and the 49ers will take the spot in that vulnerable branch. additionally Philadelphia would be a a million or a 2 seed AFC- Titans Steelers Dolphins Chargers Colts Ravens i think of that the Dolphin's spot would be taken via New England, additionally seek for Houston to make a severe run on the playoffs

My Giants made it to the playoffs with a 8-8 record. Just shows how bad the NFC is this year (or how much parity there is, depending on your opinion). If conventional wisdom prevails, they will lose to Philly in the first round.

Saints and Jets were both big surprises.

My New Orleans Saints made it and yes I was surprised after last season we have a good team and I agree about QB Aaron Brooks he was holding us back something big but we got a lot of good players this year Brees, Colston, Bush just to name a few. Plus our new coach is great I think he has really motivated the team.

Actually, it's not over yet. There are 5 games in progress that still affect the playoffs and 1 to go tonight.

Somehow, miraculously, the Eagles not only made the playoffs, but are the NFC East champs for the fifth time in six years.
