Sociopath: A term once used for someone with what is now called antisocial personality disorder, is also known as psychopathic personality or sociopathic personality.
Antisocial personality disorder: A pervasive pattern of disregard for and violation of the rights of others and inability or unwillingness to conform to what are considered to be the norms of society.
The disorder involves a history of chronic antisocial behavior that begins before the age of 15 and continues into adulthood. The disorder is manifested by a pattern of irresponsible and antisocial behavior as indicated by academic failure, poor job performance, illegal activities, recklessness, and impulsive behavior. Symptoms may include dysphoria, an inability to tolerate boredom, feeling victimized, and a diminished capacity for intimacy.
Antisocial personality disorder, also known as psychopathic personality or sociopathic personality often brings a person into conflict with society as a consequence of a pattern of behavior that is amoral and unethical. Complications that might arise from having this disorder include: frequent imprisonment for unlawful behavior, alcoholism and drug abuse.
People with this disorder may appear charming on the surface, but they are likely to be aggressive and irritable as well as irresponsible across all areas. They may have numerous somatic complaints and possibly attempt suicide but due to their use of manipulative behavior, it is difficult to separate what is true and what is not.
Antisocial Personality Disorder Symptoms:
Disregard for society's expectations and laws; Unlawful behavior
Violate rights of others (property, physical, sexual, legal, emotional); Physical aggression; Lack of stability in job, home life; Lack of remorse; Superficial charm and wit; Impulsiveness
Though sociopaths/psychopaths don't have to be criminals or violent, they can be very charming and are incredible liars, since they lack the ability to empathize with their victims.
I work with a woman who lies just because she can-I've purposely set situations up to see if she would lie if she had the chance, and she did. She has no remorse of any kind, for any of her actions (she constantly causes problems with her lying). Her sister is in a mental institution..so far she has avoided it.

If you mean a psychopath? They are psycho and usually unable to think or rationalize... psycho meaning crazed or mad and path meaning the direction or consistency of their illness pathic... emplies someone who cannot control themselves as in compulsion.
Someone who is socio pathic means someone who is socially unable to live within boundaries and rules that everyone follows... They are mentally ill but usually more calculating and smarter, more able to function than a psychopath, usually highly manipulative and intelligent but socially inept and its almost like they realize their limitations but feel that they do not have to play by the same rules as everyone else like the rules are set into place for everyone but them... where as a psychopath doesn't see or rationalize the rules the limitations or at all really.
