I could make this long but im not going to. No religion makes any sense. If there is a god (or gods) he (or them) have obviously forsaken us and doasnt give a damn (but im not gonna get into that) What I wanna get into is iruducably complex molecular machines. Does anyone have any theories of how the bacterial flagelum and all could come to be and work so perfectly without any conscience behind them and theyre origins by means of natural selection? So what I wanna understand is how could they come to be then? Nothing seems to make sense to me theyre very complex wich leads one to believe in god yet the bible the quarn and every book man claims to be gods word EVERY concept humanity has ever held about god doasnt make sense. and seems to totaly contradict itself. So what doas? Im guessing somehow these iruducably complex machines evolve. then how? Can anyone explain? Id appreciate it.

ask yourself these questions

why would god make these bacteria with flagellum at all? the typical answer would be that we cannot understand why god does such things.

then ask

how would nature make such a structure? if the answer is known in biology, then you have the answer, if it is not known, then you could give the same answer as above, that we cannot understand how nature does such things.

Here's an article

http://www.talkdesign.org/faqs/flagellum.html

it talks about the evolution of the flagellum. However, Richard Dawkins in his book "The Ancestor's Tale" also suggests that the the flagella are the simplified version of a complete bacterium, which, like the mitochondria and chloroplast, became part of another organism - although this theory is still somewhat speculative.

I have often been ask how I could be a scientist and a Christian. I have no problem. There certainly must be a powerful source behind all of evolution. Maybe He/She does not direct every step but He/She is certainly there behind the scenes. How could man have developed all that he has without help? Bacteria are only a small part of the whole picture. I think people should be concentrating on the environment and keeping it around in good shape. We are the stewards of this earth.

Put " bacterial flagellum " into your address bar. After that twit, Behe, came out with his ID nonsense, people that had not been interested in this question, suddenly were. There was also much evolutionary work being done before Behe, he just refused to check it out before he wrote " Darwin's Black Box ".
