I did not have them in my life before - How should I let them know that I am not interested.

The easiest way is just to ignore them. That way you don't have to feel anything since they only feel for your money. If that doesn't work, just tell everyone that the money has been repossesed because you didn't fit in the rules of however you won it. If that still doesn't work just tell them that you aren't going to give your money to people who know nothing about you and don't care about anything but your new found wealth.

First consult a tax attorney to develop a plan to minimize the tax bite. Then open an investment account, depositing all of the money there. Depending on your financial circumstances, you may want to invest most of the winnings in mutual funds of high quality.

These people who are suddenly very friendly to you clearly have only their own motives in mind. Here's the deal:
- Any proposition that they have for you must be in writing.
- Any proposal that is received will be first examined by your attorney (or bank officer) for its merits.
- All proposals must be treated as an application for a bank loan with suitable collateral from the borrower.
Putting their suggestions on a business basis will put a stop to most requests.

Here's the problem with "I'm not interested" - it suggests that if they are more persistent, you might become interested. Don't go there.

Here's your line: I'm sorry but my attorney will not allow me to consider any proposition that he has not reviewed first.

Any philanthropy that you consider should be on YOUR initiative, not theirs.

You let them know the same way you just made this statement:I am not interested..That's all you have to say it's not nessasary to explain anything to them.Just remember if anyone has helped you in your life with anything be it food, money, etc don't forget them.Somtimes people do things for you from the heart but you will know those who did it from the heart or was expecting somthing back.Remember this though"The Love of Money is the root of all evil"having money isn't wrong but it's what you use it for.People quote it wrong when they say money is the root of evil it's the love of it.Be good to yourself and congradulations on winning.Happy New year

Con grads to you. Run - Man this will bring out people you have never met before I can imagine. I guess it would depend on how close you want to be with them. Because look at this way, no matter what you give it will never be enough..... Someone will come to you or talk behind your back and say - "so and so only gave me this much, how much did you get?" Spend it on you and your family. Save some also, it will not last as long as you think. Good Luck

Just ask them "Where were you when I was without money and when I needed someone"?
You will always have hangers-on if you don't nip it in the bud. Congrats on the win. Invest it wisely, property is a good bet. Put some in a mutual fund but above all else SECURE YOUR FUTURE and tell all the hangers-on that the money is spoken for. Give some to charity because it will all come back to you. It has worked for me. Happy New Year.

You already know the answer... they were not in your life to begin with, so they must not be worth having now. It's pretty low and obvious to try becoming close for money. It is disgusting, and you have every right to tell these "gold diggers" exactly what you think of them. You are not being respected for the person you are, either with or without money... why should you be worried about the "friends"?

tell them that a million bucks is a lot of money and that you've locked it up, every last penny, in investments for an indefinite time until you can get a chance to wrap your brain around how much money you have and where you are going from that point. As for the freinds you didn't know you had, tell them if they need money to get a loan.

When you run into money, all the greedy's come out to play. Always remember who your friends were before you got rich!!! Everyone else doesn't matter... they are only in it for the money not you. Always remember those people are fake.....Congrats!!- u know damn well if they won, they would not be talking to you. You know what I'm saying? good luck! It's like me saying to you : "WILL YOU MARRY ME"? you don't even know me. Hire a body guard, to keep them away. People like to hound people who have money.

Tell them just that, say "I am not interested." Or screw with them a little and call them out on it and say "It is funny how since I won the money you are talking to me again." Good Luck!

Be honest. Tell them you know they are like this cause you got the money now and that if you really did care you wouldve been talking to me long before I won it. Also mention to them they are welcome to stay in your life but they are not getting a dime from you. See if they stay around then.
Good luck and conga-rats on the win!
