For Windows XP

Begin by first clicking on the Start Button.

Then click on the Control Panel icon located in the right column of the Start Menu.

Now click on the Power Options icon to display the Power Options Properties Window.

If your Start Menu is set to the Classic View, then begin by clicking on the Start Button.

Then click on Settings, then click on the Control Panel icon to open up the Control Panel.

Now, click on the Hibernate tab located at the top of the power options screen.

Then uncheck the Enable hibernation option with your mouse if it happens to be enabled.

Now click on the OK button to save your changes and exit the Power Options windows.

And then close the Control Panel to return back to your Window session.

Your computer will no longer enter into a hibernation sleep state when you are away from it.

Hello Babii_Gurlie,

If you have a Macintosh, you use the System Preferences settings. Under the Harware heading, click on the Energy Saver icon. Click on the Sleep button and move the sliders to "Never". That way the computer and hard drive stays on, but you can put the screen saver on for the display.

He he. Just taking care of the Mac folks out there. :-D

Best of luck to you.
