YES! Yes. Marvin Lewis is flat out costing his team games. The flop in the last game versus the Pittsburgh Steelers couldn't be a better example. Lewis wasted one of the last two timeouts with the Steelers' Jeff Reed about to kick a field goal to knot the game at 17 with 1:07 left. Rather than saving the timeout to help the Bengals on their ensuing drive, in which they would need only a field goal for the win, Lewis blew a timeout to "ice" Jeff Reed. Cowher laughed. The laugh could only translate to "what is that idiot doing." To top it off, on the Bengals drive Palmer hit Henry for a big play to put them in field goal range. Palmer hurried the offense to the line of scrimmage and spiked the ball. In an amazing worst-coaching-job-ever finale, the Bengals didn't get a play into the huddle in time and Cincinnati had to blow their last timeout, which of course shouldn't have been. From there more moronic shenanigans to set up the game losing field goal attempt.

Yes. They should have went to the Super Bowl this year.

I don't know about firing him just yet. What I do know is that he has been doing a lot of stupid things during the game all season. This is not the first instance. Also Shane Graham is a good kicker so no blame for him.
Although the coaching staff (I don't know if I want to put the entire blame on Lewis just yet) has seen it's worst season, there have been a few player issues this year as well whether by injury or by attitude. They will need to make some major decisions if they want to come out winning next year.
By the way, as I predicted, they have lost their last 3 games. I should say found a way to loose the last 3.

No! No. Give the guy a little time. The Bengals are a talented team but Lewis hasn't had enough time to put his stamp on the organization.
One game of mistakes shouldn't be a reason to fire him.
If Lewis makes the same mistakes next year then cut him loose but I say give him at least one more term. I think he (and the whole Bengals team) will turn it around in 07. They certainly have the personnel.

They still got to go for the Field Goal DIDN'T THEY??? So maybe they should fire the Kicker who SHANKED it. What he wanted the fans to have a free ball? That wasn't even CLOSE. Want to go on about what REALLY blew it. You know why Cowher was laughing? Because Cowher TAUGHT Lewis that trick. Lewis was Cowher's assistant years back. Now the Bengals were far outplayed and shouldn't have even got it there. If Parker didn't fumble with the wet ball and good bump the Bengals would have been blown out. Sure Reed wasn't "iced" but you could say that the Graham shanked it because Cowher "iced" him. So why does Cowher try? Heck what happened to those last 6 seconds. Did the Steelers play bad coaching. They could have called a play maybe got a TD and even had a time-out. maybe they could have got a play quick enough and time-out for a field goal try. Instead they apparently kneeled down and let it go into OT. What if they didn't get the ball?

So, let's see, before Marvin got there, when was the last time the Bengals had made the playoffs?

Are you kidding me? The day they fire Marvin is the day they should disband the franchise. Before he got there, the Bengals were the laughingstock of the league, instead of the gang of criminals they are now.

Probably not. He is a good defensive mind, and its not really his fault that jokers like Chad Johnson are bringing this team down. Also the injury of Carson Palmer was at a bad time. Lewis had a great team before injuries set in a few years back, so let him have a chance.

marvin lewis is a great coach. he has done well in the past but hes not the reason they lost today as you've cited. look at the rush yards for the bengals, you cant expect to win any game with 44 rush yards. not to mention no big plays from OCHO-CINCO.

You can't blame the coach when his team gets their butt whipped like the Bungals did today. The Steelers dominated every aspect of the game. Lewis also can't be blamed for his team having more players on the arrest report than the game roster. The Bungals show a huge lack of maturity & professionalism. They are at their best while coming up with new excuses for losing a game.

well, i was wondering what the bengals fans would blame it on this time. the bengals need serious help defensively, offensively they are ok, but when you can't win a game with the bull s h i t calls that there were today (roughing the passer, and the fumble that was ruled incomplete) you know they need help. it's not the coaches fault, it's the people who over hyped the bengals and actually bought into them being any good.

No, look at what they were before he became coach. He has made the Bengals a better team. I'd like to see you do a better job.
