Ohhhh, this is good. I can see my husband posting a question like this, but I will good humoredly try to help you out here:
1. "Dear, the fish are ALL SCALY and SO DIRTY and that's why I clean them; you are such an excellent housekeeper, it just never occurred to me to interfere."
2. "I thought the house cleaned itself."
3. "Hon, I married you so I'd have more time to fish."
4. "I just love it when we have these heart-to-heart talks!" [But don't answer the question.]
5. "I've just thought it was best to go with our strengths - I am good at sports, while you seem to excel at drudgery."
6. "Can you be more specific please?"
7. "Awww...sweet baby....would a back rub help your pms?"

I have asked my husband the same question. He can weld all day and read blueprints and put together $100,000 trailers but he does not know how to run the washing machine or the dish washer. I am glad there is someone else who has the same problems. There is no reason why a man can't clean the house! Good Luck!

The answer is simple. The man, while cleaning the fish, is full of expectation as to the pleasure of consuming it after cooking and cleaning. There is no such expectation from cleaning a house.

Because it is internal instinct. As in any animal (not calling men or women animals mind you)
Men are the hunters and gatherers from the beginning of time.
Women are the nurturers, they keep the cave, so to speak.
It's all relative to where we came from, what is expected of us and how the friggin story goes!
I will go further to add; even though roles have evolved for men and women as society evolves. There is an inherent behavior that is a part of our makeup.

From what I understand is that a man is used to his mom doing it all for him. Plus being married for almost 13 yrs., my experience is that a man doesn't notice the things a woman does around the house. A woman goes through nesting on a constant basis. To a woman, having a messy home is turmoil and doesn't want unexpected company to see the mess and to think she is lazy and unclean. Think of it this way...how do you like people to see your car?

Because to eat the fish it must be clean, but the house doesn't have to be clean for you to eat in it.
