I think this girl Cat is the one who needs the reality check. She is my little sister and I think oldest knows best. I have to say that I think rap is only good for the beat behind the music. But the stupid pointless lyrics really do ruin the music. I can't stand listening to it. At least you don't have someone living across the hall from you that booms it all the time. Seriously, rap music is definitley not ballin'!

"Meaning or substance." Actually, you could have been more specific in listing which rap music you think has "meaning or substance." Just by giving the the 'listen to charlie' link, you certainly are not speaking for, or representing all 'meaningful' rap music. I think most of the rap performers do think their music has "meaning or substance" even when they brag how much better they are than the other rappers, how the ladies all love them, how 'gangster' or 'ghetto' they are, how everyone fears them.....ad nauseum.

well...if you opened your mind to other peoples interests then you might actually find meaning in rap. yes i will admit that some rap songs are quite pointless..but you know there are also some very deep rap songs that have lots of meaning and substance thankyouverymuch!and if your suggesting that your music is better then my music you need a serious reality check......i'm not mike jones,keep my name out your mouth!!

i listen to rap 4 their rap speed,rymes,lyrics,and beats my favorite r dr.dre and snoopdogg cause they rap about stuff that happend to them and cuz there from da west coast. there also gangstas and u should do some songs with dre or snoop 2 get u started. and here's dre offical myspace http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=8678513 and tell him wat u should improve on.
