It's a double-edged sword--you want to protect them from dust, but you don't want to cover them up so they overheat.
The necessary compromise would be to keep them in some sort of spacious cabinet when not in use, but open up the cabinet when you're playing with them, and dust them regularly.

Put it in the middle of an open shelf. That way you have some covering on top and at the same time, it has open air. There's really no way to prevent dust from getting into the PS3. The best you can do is dust daily and get those compressed air in a can and use it weekly to blow out the dust that's already inside the PS3.

That's a tough one. You could try putting them in a stereo cabinet, but then you risk them overheating, so you should also get a cooling fan to accompany them. The fan might tend to blow dust out of the cabinet too.

Dust them daily. or as often as you use them with a Swiffer Duster (not the swiffer mop, but you know, the ones that look like a feather duster.)
