This holiday drives me nuts--everyone really wants to have plans for it, but the plans more often than not end up sucking. Do I just live in the wrong city for New Years or is it the holiday itself?

It's the holliday itself, you always try to put together these awesome plans and you build it up and expect it to be such a great night, and then it isn't, at all.
I actually don't think I can remember an awesome new years that has happened since I was a kid and was excited that I got to stay up that late.

I think it is a boring holiday. If you have young kids especially! No way can you go out and party with a 3 year old in tow!

I agree. I've always thought it was a pretty dumb thing to celebrate - number change, big deal. It's just an excuse to get drunk. Not that there's anything wrong with that . . .

I do too. I usually treat it like another day and just go to sleep at my normal time lol. I don't care to see a ball drop.
