I don't know if this will be helpful but he also has a problem with intimency. He is outgoing and his employees love him. He was raised by an alcoholic. Thanks so much for any ideas you have that could explain it.

well looks like thats the answer. He was raised by an alcoholic and possibly didnt have any support growing up.
He probably doesnt know how to support you. Have you tried talking to him about this. Maybe get some relationship counselling, that could help as then you can both express your feelings.

Maybe it is you. Maybe he is tired of your needy ness, and your lack of support in his direction, try giving what you want to receive, and is HE an alcoholic?

My husband used to be extremely friendly with outsiders but not so with our family. I just kept nagging him about it and constantly bringing it to his attention.
