You should do some careful research first. If you are an adult and have a circumcision, you will notice a loss of sensitivity. The foreskin comprises mucous membrane covered with nerves - these help provide sexual stimulation in an uncut man. When they are removed, you will get less stimulation. Also, once the head is permanently exposed, you will develop a layer of keratin on the head; this protects it from rubbing against clothing, but also deadens the sensation.
While men who were circumcised at birth never realize this, a man who is circumcised as an adult does notice the reduced stimulation. In some cases, men find they can no longer climax during intercourse, and have to finish by hand.
The American Medical Association and the American Association of Pediatrics both state that routine circumcision of males is unnecessary, and should only be performed where there is a medical reason.
In the US, circumcisions reached a peak in 1968, when 90% of newborns were circumcised; since then the rate has fallen sharply. In 2004 the rate was down to 65%, with only 39% of west coast residents getting this operation for their babies. If the trend continues, a majority of American babies will be uncircumcised in the next few years.

I suppose it's okay to WANT anything, but it would be a very silly thing to actually do. Once it's gone, it's gone forever - you don't get a second chance. You and your woman will both enjoy sex a lot less after it is done. There are really no advantages unless you live in sub-Saharan Africa and want to have promiscuous sex without a condom. If you are in that category, then circumcision can reduce the chances of getting HIV from totally dreadful to really, really bad.
The other "advantages" are all fiction. Cancer of the penis is so rare that more males die from circumcision each year than from penile cancer. It's NOT cleaner - you have to wash regardless. Foreskin has no bad smell - any penis (or other part of your body)will stink if you don't wash it. And if any fluffhead won't sleep with you because you have a normal, intact penis, then you've been spared a relationship with an extremely shallow person who doesn't know how good sex is with a WHOLE man!

I think you can learn a little from everybody's advice on this question, because for the most part, everyone is telling you that in the end it is your personal right to choose what you would like.
I believe that if you choose to be circumcized, it's because you've really given it a long and hard thought. So.....by all means, go make the first move and call a doctor and make the appointment. In reality though, you should need anyone to tell you what you should do with your own body.....the choice should be totally yours. My question to you is......why? Why do you feel you need to get circumcized? Have you had problems with your foreskin? Have you suffered from infections or an overly tight foreskin.....or is there something else that has made you consider getting snipped? Could it be that you grew up feeling different.......feeling abnormal.....that you weren't like everyone else? Did you grow up in a part of the country where every single guy was snipped at birth, and you feel competely out of place because you weren't? I'm sorry if I'm asking too many questions.....but I am really curious about why you are considering circumcision. I was teased when I was 10 years old.....and it marked me for many years. I lived with an inferiority complex because of it......feeling that I was not normal because I was the only boy not snipped. It took me years to get over it......but I'm glad I did. I have had some incredible experiences in my life, and I am very glad that I broke away from the idea of needing to be like everyone else just so I could be accepted as normal. Now.....at this age and time I can gladly say, "Why would I want to be like everyone else when I can be unique"?
Don't get me wrong......if you feel that circumcision is the thing for you, by all means go for it dude! All I'm trying to say is....think about WHY you want it done and for whom you're doing it.
I truly hope it all works out for you......in the end it's about being happy and satisfied about ourselves.
Best of Luck!

definitely not a surgery you should rush into without some pretty careful study. Sure if you have a medical problem that can only be cured by removing yoru foreskin, then maybe it has to be done. But to opt for circumcision for no good reason is possibly goign to lead to lots of regrets later.
Remember the foreskin is designed to cover and protect the glans/head of your penis. In addition it keeps the head moister and more sensitive. And th eforeskin itself contains lots of nerve endings that are excellent receptors for feelings of pleasure during sex or masturbation. With the foreskin gone, you might well find a reduced sensation from masturbation and sex after a while.
Sure in some areas most guys are curcumcised but worldwide foreskins are in the majority. So no reason to get cut to be in with the in crowd. Also cleanign is easily achieved even with a foreskin; just enjoy sliding it back and washing under it.
And yes, some guys who are circumcized will claim it is the best thing since sliced bread but I prefer my penis unsliced thank you very much so I won't encourage you to have yours sliced.

Yes it is fine. It is you personal decision to do whatever you want to YOUR body. And reading the comment below that women likes it. But again do pay attention that yes it will hurt but after that you wont feel any different with that extra skin off. Most people do that for their kids because of religion not because your private is better circumcised. So just think to your self about the pros and cons and make your decision. The only con I can think of is that it will hurt but it wont forever....so do what YOU want.

YES, completely ok!
CIRCUMCISION IS VERY BENEFICIAL, its cleaner, healthier and several prestigious research institutions have proved that circumcised men have less risk of contracting STD's such as AIDS-HIV, syphilis or herpes.
Uncircumcised penises are difficult to keep clean, and more prone to infections and penile cancer, studies have shown.
A circumcised penis is naturally clean and virtually free from urinary infections. You will not have to worry again with careful washing of your penis.
About STD's:
As I said, several studies carried out by prestigious research bodies have proved that uncircumcised penises are more prone to infections and contraction of STD's, including AIDS-HIV. It has been confirmed that circumcised men are up to 70% less likely to be infected than those who are uncircumcised. Have a look at this site: http://www.torontodailynews.com/index.php/HealthNews/2006121404Circumcision
As for women, studies also show that circumcision also protects female partners from AIDS-HIV and other STD's. Browse this article: http://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/Press_releases/2006/02_08_06.html
About sensitivity of a circumcised penis:
NO medical or physiological study has ever shown that circumcision reduces sensitivity, opposed to common belief. It is completely FALSE that circumcision reduces penis sensitivity. The American Academy of Paediatrics (AAP) confirms this on their web site; have a look at: http://www.aap.org/pubed/zzzjzmemh4c.htm
Circumcision is an easy and nowadays *painless* procedure, which has many benefits, and virtually no risks.
Circumcision is NOT an amputation. Circumcision is NOT comparable at all to female circumcision, which is something completely different.
Circumcision rates are INCREASING nowadays, both in the United States and overseas. Many African, Asian and Latin American countries with little circumcision tradition are starting to promote the procedure to help to reduce the AIDS-HIV infection rates.
Finally, this site has a lot of useful and *unbiased* information. Make sure you have a good look: http://www.circinfo.net

It's ok to want to be circumcised. See your doctor and they can either do it or refer you to someone who can. Be warned that the tip of the penis can hurt for the next couple of weeks because it is constantly rubbing on your pants like it never has before.

There are 2 types....the conventional cut and a dorsal cut. The dorsal is when they really don't remove the skin but just cut a slit and suture that, to make the foreskin more loose. It is ok to want to be circumsised. You would have less of a chance of getting a disease, and things would stay cleaner for you. Best of luck to you.

Yes its fine. It is your private area do as you please. I can't answer for all women, but I know about me- and i love it when the guy is circumcised, its cleaner, safer, and to me more enjoyable. Yes it will hurt bc most have it done when they are babies, but I think it would be worth it.
