I am sick of people telling pregnant women honey is not safe for them. Honey is not safe for children under the age of 1 because they do not have sufficiently acidic digestive tract nor fully formed microfloura that older children and adults do. However a pregnant woman is not a baby, her digestive system is just fine and will kill of botulism spores.

I can find a million sources that say honey is safe for pregnant women, I challenge those of you who disagree to come up with TWO REPUTABLE SOURCES.

I will be attaching my sources in a few minutes.

*Sigh* and the tea is Red Raspberry Leaf tea, and it can cause contractions but has not been linked to preterm labour and many pregnant women take it as a uterine tonic to help prepare the uterus for birth.

Peppermint tea may have the same effect.

If you drink either of these teas and the contractions bother you stop.

You should avoid the following herbs as well:
black or blue cohosh, ephedra, dong quai, feverfew, juniper, pennyroyal, St. John's wort, rosemary and thuja.

*Note rosemary is safe in the quantity you would normally eat, just not concentrated herbal remedies.

Also seeing as I can read English and you said a tea of honey and lemon not a tea with honey and lemon I am assuming that you are not adding black or green tea leaves. If you are the same limits apply to anything with caffeine during pregnancy, which for tea is about 3 cups per day. I am mainly addressing this as other people seem to be reading "with" instead "of". Maybe you should have said "infusion of" then again maybe not.

Honey can be fatal for children under 2 years old. A good way to get rid of a cold would be to have some tea with lemon on it's own or if you need sweetener, real sugar, not anything fake, a good tea is Gypsy Cold Care. Keep your head and feet warm!

One of the things that i have found to help me when i have been that way is saline nasal spray. It is safe to use on little babies so I have used it when I have had what you do. A Humidifier during the day and a vicks Humidifier at night. Also you can use Popsicles for the sore throat and you can eat as many as you like cause the more fluid you have in your system the sooner you will get over it. I also tried drinking capri-sun pouches when i am sick. Everytime I went to the bathroom I would go get two more pouches and drink them. That seemed to help flush the infection out. i am sorry to hear about you being sick and I wish you the best of luck to get rid of it. Get well soon!

Yes you can have that safely while you are pregnant. Just don't want to give a baby honey though until he or she is 1yr old or more. Their body's cant fight the things in honey.

Yes, though you may want to take decaffinated tea. You can eat honey. You just can't feed it to kids under 2.

How about a ginger or peppermint tea? Avoid Rasberry Tea... I've been told it can start labour!!

That would be perfect!
Try ginger tea, too.
If you are really miserable, ask your doctor about Sudafed decongestant; most will tell you that's OK for a few days, but ask.
Good luck!
