Try to keep it classic. Dressing like a teenager and showing too much is just embarrassing after a certain age. Once you reach 25, you should have something between your ears to offer the world, so don't dress like all you have to offer is between your legs.
Also, don't try on "styles" like artiste, goth, witchy, librarian, unless you really are one of those things.

Clothing has become an image portrayer. A lot of your personality can come through your clothes. It all depends what image it is that you're trying to send across. Tight-fitted "leaves nothing to the imagination" clothing can send off the wrong signal. Whereas fitted, decent jeans, and a nice sweater or not "showing" blouse may seem more appropriate.
You should also take your work into consideration. If you're working for a professional company, and hold a fairly high position, you may not want to wear ripped jeans, and stained shirt. As mentioned before, it's really up to how you want others to view you as.

Being 29 myself, I find this more and more challenging. I am a business professional, so during the week a suit is a pretty safe bet. But casual wear is difficult. You definitely don't want to look like your mother, but wearing jeans with a coin slot in the back is definitely out as well.(Especially if you have kids)
I like NY&CO, Express, Eddie Bauer, and JCrew. just look through magazines and catalogs and get an idea of what your style is. Buy a few basics and add things you like as you find them.

Are you practising to be naive, or have you achieved the status?
How should a 25 year old dress?
How should a 26 year old dress? or a 30 year old dress?
Where is it written, in what book (other than those to do with religious conduct) does it state 'how should anyone dress'?
It might help engender an answer if you were to state as to which part of the world you are, what you do for a living and maybe the type of community you live in, then maybe we could drag up into the light of day some answer to fit the 'form' that you seem to want....!
If you were to live in, say, a cold climate, then the answer to your question might be 'warmly.' And if it were a hot climate, then you might get the answer 'light weight.'
I'm assuming that you are a female of the species (as you don't say ~ another missed fairly important clue).....
and thus I withdraw an attempted answer as your choice of wardrobe is as long as it's wide ~ sweaters / blouses / skirt suites / trouser suites / ankle length skirts / minis / jeans / boots / shoes / tights / stockings are all some of the choices which are dependent on the circumstances your in.
It might help if you supplied a better formulated question.

A 25 year old female should be dressed in a turtle neck and tight blues jeans, turte neck can be swapped for a babydoll dress if she so desires; the main stay are the tight blue jeans(tight as in cool/sharp).
25 year old guy? needs to be dressed like me.
