Even though they sold out and changed their sound, i still liked the black album and the albums after that. I don't get why people hate/started hating them after the black album was realesed, I mean, they still rock, idk, what do you think?

Dude, Metallica NEVER sold out.

I started listening to Metallica when my friend gave me Load. I played the hell out of that album. But that doesn't mean my tastes run in the post-Black era: My favorites are Load and Ride the Lightning. You couldn't get two more different albums, which is one of the reasons I love Metallica. They're willing to change and evolve, fan backlash be damned.

The only Metallica album I don't really like is the newest one. But if you've seen the documentary, you know they had a LOT more problems than some half-baked concept like "selling-out," which means anything from:

* Accepting money for art.
* Compromising art for money.
* Waah, I'm so jealous of Metallica. My crappy band can't get signed. Not because we are horrible, because we WON'T SELL OUT!

So, so sad.

So trust me on this, man. You are not alone. People hate Metallica because they cannot accept change, but it's really the FANS who have changed. If they could go back in time and try to hang out with their head-banging twentysomething past-selves, those longhaired 80s-era hardcases would kick their overweight, balding butts back to the 2000s. :)

i think of because of the fact every person thinks they're btches for suing Napster whilst that they had a set of Metallica's songs, such because of the fact the unreleaseed "The Unforgiven" by some means leaked onto the internet web site and it became meant to be a marvel and the music performed interior the venture impossible action picture (I forgot which one) in my opinion, people who think of that are selfish because of the fact they get pissed at a band considering that band would not watn to grant unfastened music. I propose cmon! That ridiculas! might you prefer to spend all that funds on kit and artwork so confusing producing an excellent music and have somebody leak those songs all around the internet for unfastened get carry of and you get not something? yet one extra reason i think of is by using the fact they made such super music early than made "damaging" music (which i think of all their music is vast, yet purely not as super has the 1st 5 albums) in any different case i don't be attentive to, sorry. Firesign i will furnish you with that, Hero of the Day sounded damaging. yet not something Else concerns became a music to specific i think of it became James? properly besides, exhibit Jame's emotions. It wasn't meant to be a hardcore music, it became a splendidly made music that expressed James's feeling in the direction of yet another person (i think of it became his former female chum)? And purely for the record, he became writing a music for his former female chum, purely making stuff up, and Lars discovered it and needed it to be in Metallica. (I purely regarded it up xD)

I liked Load (although I'm a chick), but thought it was hilarious when they named their next album Reload, after their fans gave them so much flack about selling out. However, I cannot stand to listen to Lars Ulrich. He's annoying, stupid, and egocentric. All bands listen! Do not let the drummer speak!

I still like them but they never sold out. If you think about it though each band sells out the first time they get paid for a gig.

There are a few people who still like thier new stuff. I am not one of them but I have met a couple of people. After they made the big stink about napster I lost all respect for them.

I still love them to death. My dad and I are huge fans.

I think people who stop liking a band after they "sell out" are just stupid.
