I know the Declaration of Independece was 7-4-1776, but when did the Revolutionary War itself begin?

the "offical" war started later but the first shot was on april 19, 1775(?). the shot heard around the world.about 700 redcoats were near lexington and concord. Paul Revere sounded alarm. At daybreak 70 minutemen were waiting. They realised they were out numbered and tried to leave when the first shot was fired. Happy new year!
