it's an old pennsylvania dutch tradition to eat pork and sauerkraut on new year's day. the pork and sauerkraut is the main part but most also have mashed potatoes, which just goes good with both of them. :)

I don't eat pork. But I do like sauerkraut.
But I don't eat them on New Year's Eve or Day.

Its a German tradition-the pork is supposed to be for good luck . also mashed potatoes go with the sauerkraut.

Jehovah's Witnesses do not have fun New Years as a results of fact the celebrations originate with worship of pagan gods. to boot, new years is in lots of cases linked with heavy ingesting, something else that Jehovah's Witnesses do not take part in. As to your friends, it somewhat is attainable that they only had buddies over on the grounds that human beings in lots of cases have time without work from artwork at New Years. even inspite of the shown fact that, i will't communicate for them, and each physique would desire to respond to for his or her own strikes.
