added: thanks for all the answers, but i cant g=juts get another scan lol they are only for medical reasons really... i cant afford a 3d/4d one.
with my other 2 boys, it was OBVIOUS they were boys! even i could see... this time, they spent a hell of a lot of time looking, as one more experienced sonographer was aiding a trainee (altho the more experienced one said it looked like a girl) she said they can never be 100% in case they are wrong, but to her, she coudlnt see anything at all that made it look like a boy..

im 26 wks.. not long to go.. but i have to say... i did buy a few things already!! the sales are on, and id be mad if i didnt get SOMETHING! imagine if it is a girl.. and i have to buy full price everything! argh!

happy noo year!

Buy as many pink clothes as makes you happy - I'm sure that your baby won't mind. Be happy and healthy then it won't matter if you have a boy or a girl. Maybe just buy pink general clothes rather than dresses.

Good luck and congratulations

I know exactly how you feel because when I had my scan, I was told it might be a girl, but my next scan will be after 2 weeks, so I'm pretty sure I'll find out for sure what I'm having... My husband and I are also very anxious, but everything is worth waiting for! So, I would suggest that you wait until after your next scan or you can also have 3d/4d ultrasound as well because then you'll know for sure...

I hope you do have a baby girl, but I'm sure you don't wanna end up having a boy AFTER buying all girlie clothes?

Oooooh. Better leave the tags on!
It's not a genetic test, you know, they are looking at the baby's anatomy, not chromosomes.
They're usually right, but sometimes they are wrong. It's pretty gray and fuzzy on that screen, and they don't always have the best view.
Seriously, don't spend a lot on stuff you can't return. Just leave the window open, a little crack, that MAYBE it could be another boy, and try not to be disappointed. Three brothers could be great! Eventually, say 15 years from now, the girls will come around.

I am n ot sure how far along you are...If you were told that it was a girl at your 22 week ultrasound then I say go for it.I did the same thing when I found out we were having a girl. However, I made sure that I saved all of my receipts and didn't take any tags of the clothing until the baby was born, JUST IN CASE! But I couldn't resist buying all of those pink outfits and the ruffly pants. I wish you all the luck in the world....I know my little girl looks like a princess in all of the clothes I bought before she was here!

Firstly, I'd get another ultrasound in a few months to confirm it is a girl.

Buy unisex colors like I did (green, yellow, blue, white). If you do buy pink, keep the tags and receipts so you can exchange them if it does happen to be another boy. I had a girl my first pregnancy and this one is a boy (twice confirmed) and I was so surprised at how many unisex colors I bought with my daughter. I'm so glad I did because I won't have to buy so many newborn clothes since babies tend to grow out of them quickly. Good luck on having a baby girl! They are loads of fun to dress up in pink!

buy whatever you want, but keep the tags on and save the receipts. The baby could end up being the opposite gender, and it may not be the size predicted. I'll tell you from experience, it's a pain having season specific clothes that you can't use!

Also, people love to buy clothes for baby showers - so let them take care of that before you go buy stuff! They will generally stick in the 0-3 range, so you might want to buy clothes in larger sizes, instead of smaller sizes. Unless, of course, you see an outfit you just can't resist :)

I wouldnt buy just yet.... scans are not 100% accurate. They can tell you that it looks likea girl, but only because its concealing the obvious! the ultrasound image uses magnetic waves and can give you an idea of shape, sex, weight, but it is only estimated! The most accurate time to ask is when its physically out!!!

I wouldnt want you to waste money on items it wouldnt be able to wear. I bought lots of pink stuff only to be told it looks like a boy!

No, you should wait until you know for sure. Buy a few outfits that are suitable for a boy or a girl. If you were told that it "looked like" your baby "could be" a girl, that is not a very certain statement. It is not uncommon for boys to have their little boy parts hiding during an ultrasound.

I can understand you wanting a girl this time, but be careful of your feelings hunny. It may be that having lots of girlie things around you if you find out it is a boy could be more upsetting for you.

Fingers crossed that it's a girl and whatever gender that it's healthy and you are all happy. Good luck for a fantastic 2007 xx

I'd say no because you said it could be. Certainly doesn't sound sure. But if you want to get some(meaning some not the whole baby section) girl clothes go ahead, but keep the receipt and tags on just in case.
