I'm confused, in the bible it state's this Corinthians 6:9, TLB. "Don't you know that those doing such things have no share in the Kingdom of God? Don't fool yourselves. Those who live immoral lives, who are idol worshippers, adulterers or homosexuals—will have no share in his kingdom."

And at the same time people say God loves everyone no matter what. WHICH IS IT??? I'm so confused...

The Bible says all kinds of nonsense. It's just a book.

An OLD book, written by ignorant, primitive people, loosely based on passed-down myths and tall tales made up by goat-herding desert nomads and then rewritten, mistranslated, and edited beyond recognition by a self-serving authoritarian church.

It is completely irrelevant to modern society except as a piece of history documenting the attitudes of the cultures that produced it.

Here is a relevant rant from the West Wing that sums up my thoughts on the matter nicely:

President Bartlet (Martin Sheen): I like how you call homosexuality an abombination.

Jenna Jacobs: I don't say homosexuality is an abomination, Mr. President, the Bible does.

President Bartlet: Yes, it does. Leviticus.

Jenna Jacobs: 18:22.

President Bartlet: Chapter and verse. I wanted to ask you a couple of questions while I have you here.

I'm interested in selling my youngest daughter into slavery as sanctioned in Exodus 21:7. She's a Georgetown sophmore, speaks fluent Italian, always cleared the table when it was her turn.
What would a good price for her be?

While thinking about that, can I ask another?
My Chief of Staff Leo McGarry insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2 clearly says he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself or is it okay to call the police?

Here's one that's really important because we've got a lot of sports fans in this town: touching the skin of a dead pig makes one unclean. Leviticus 11:7. If they promise to wear gloves, can the Washington Redskins still play football? Can Notre Dame? Can West Point?

Does the whole town really have to be together to stone my brother John for planting different crops side by side? Can I burn my mother in a small family gathering for wearing garments made from two different threads?

Think about that, will you?

Oh, and one last thing. You may have mistaken this for your meeting of the Ignorant Tightass club but in this building, when the President stands, nobody sits.

The bible is a wonderful guidebook to life, but we have to realize that while God is perfect, human beings are not, and human beings wrote this book down. There may be parts of it that people at the time could not have possibly understood in that time, like creation, so God gave them an allegory, or a story they could understand, to explain it.

Some things in it have been added by men over the many translations and transcriptions of the bible, so for all we know, that verse about "lying with a man as with a woman" was never intended.

More and more of the research we have done (with our God-given intellect and curiosity) has shown that homosexuality is no more a choice than having blue eyes. Imagine if the bible had a passage decrying blue eyed people. It would be a silly passage obviously added by prejudiced people. I think this is, too.

According to the bible homosexuality is a sin, therefore following your heart must be a sin as well. The bible says god loves everyone. As you can see, the bible contradicts itself, not only that but it condemns those who do not fall into the majority of sexual preference. As long as no one is being harmed people have the right to promote individuality and love who they love. Homosexuals deserve the same kind of freedom that heterosexuals recieve, but it may take the world some more time to wake up and realize this. All we can do is attempt to educate them and better the lives of good people.

I learned in Sunday school that God does love everyone and that includes homosexuals. However practicing that lifestyle is considered a sin. If you were gay yes God would still love you, but if you were to go out and have sex with someone that is the same gender that would be a sin.

A gene that would desire to be appropriate to homosexuality is long wide-spread. Xq28 is located on the X-chromosome, and men who've this gene are 30% a lot extra in all probability to be gay (that is not absolute, because of the fact there are men who've the gene and are heterosexual, and men who don't have it, yet are gay). that is been stated that this gene is a fertility ingredient in females. subsequently, that is not an evolutionary blunders, it purely manifests itself in diverse strategies. at present day, study are taking place with gay brothers or twins, and twins of which one brother is gay and yet another one isn't. that is was hoping that those study will shed extra easy on no remember if genetics are a base camp.

You can live an inmoral life WITHOUT being idol worshipers, adulterers or homosexuals, which means that you can also be idol worshipers, adulterers or homosexuals and NOT live an inmoral life. I guess the whole idea is to be a good person, no matter what your sexual, religious and/or political preferences are. Remember that the all about the Bible is interpretation, maybe when they published that edition, whoever review it interpreted inmorality as such, but times change, and now the interpretation we have is different.

everything u said is ALL true. though when u say "God loves everyone no matter what" that still doesnt mean he loves what u do. God said homosexuality is wrong, but he will still love you but not the sin.

God also said to lie with your own kind. So it depends on what part of the bible you are reading whether or not it says it's okay to be homosexual. The whole book is full of contradictions anyway.
