If he/she is a close friend, pick up the phone and call them and ask them what their email address is.

Is this close friend a super secret "close friend" that nobody knows about, including that person? STALKER!

Seriously though, put their name in a google search and see what comes up.

Okay, you busted my chops. Email addresses are a dime for 100000 of them. There is virtually no way to figure out someone's email address unless you know something about them, their habits, nicknames, etc. You can hack their computer, however, if you can get that far you can probably get their email address much easier.

You might stumble across an email address from time to time. I have about 100 of them, about 75 of them are dummy accounts that I never answer.

Forget the email address. Find the person using people searches, and pay if you have to. Then call the person and ask.
