Like most places, it's what you make of it.

I'd suggest picking up some books on day trips in Kansas. There's all kinds of hidden gems that maybe even the locals don't realize.

The city is pretty easy to get around. While there are all kinds of divisions -- the most noticable is East, West and Midtown. Each section has its own favorite shopping spots.
