I am just a few weeks pregnant, and I worked out before. I generally do an eliptical routine (semi-difficult) for 35 minutes. Then I do abs and squats for my butt. I am going to my first MD appt. this week, so I'll verify, but just wanted to see what you all thought. Thanks.

Yeah most doctors recommend exercise while you're pregnant. I'm not sure about all of the details though.

Yes, it is fine. As long as you're not over doing it and it's not causing any bleeding, you're fine for now.

Later on, you'll want to avoid being on your back very much, and beyond that, you'll want to make sure you're not doing much jostling. Avoid any activities where you might fall (such as bike riding or horse riding). And don't put too much stress on your stomach, as it can cause the muscles to pull apart (diastasis).

Many women continue running even into 6 months, so I'm sure your routines are fine. Women aren't given the same types of restrictions that they used to be given, thanks to new information coming out all the time.

Keep your heart rate at 140 beats per minute and DO NOT over heat yourself! You also may want to cut out the workout for the abs.

Hello!

You probably should wait and talk with the doctor first before working out to be safe.

God Bless!

My midwife told me it was fine to KEEP UP my routine. I just couldn't add anything to it. And then as it got uncomfortable later on in my pregnancy I was supposed to step it down.
