I have heard this before, the premise being that there is less room to move. I don't have first-hand experience with the issue.

Hi there dear and congratulations on your upcoming blessed event! All four of my babies seemed to get lazy toward the end. The doctor told me that it was because they have much less room to roll around and turn. They are actually pretty squished in there during the last weeks. You will still feel them kick and poke but you will not feel that total turnabout feeling like when they are doing a somersault! By this time their head is down and is going to stay that way, they are not going to be doing a lot of serious rearranging this late in your pregnancy.
Good luck honey and I hope every thing turns out the way you want it to!
Blessings to you!

My baby was actually more active for some reason. But I have heard this also and my midwife said it doesnt always happen but usually because the baby doesnt really have much room to move towards the end of the last trimester

Quickening does slow a bit as the pregnancy comes to an end because the baby just doesn't have enough room to move.

It wasnt so much as movement slowing down but it wasnt such a hard kick or punch because they have less room towards the end of the pregnancy.

even though the baby has less room to move, you should still feel quite definate movements. you know how and when your baby usually moves and if this has become significantly less i really would see a doctor or midwife, just to be on the safe side. Sometimes the baby can tangle its cord, the doctor or nurse can easily reposition it by manipulating it.

Yes, both of my kids moved a lot less towards the end. They ran out of room. Both of my babies were over 9 lbs which probably made a difference.

They don't have as much room to move around so yeah. But if you are having trouble feeling the baby move you should call your doctor to check it out. Try lying on your side and counting kicks(10 kicks per hour is normal). Or try rubbing your belly to wake the baby up.

why yes it does............ on most women. Towards the end the baby's movement slows because the baby drops down into the birth canal and there he rests sorta speak until soon the baby comes..................
Good Luck and Congratulations!!!!!
Happy New Year!
