Of course you have to be yourself and be honest! Remember that the quantity of friends is unimportant, but the quality is key! My brother is still in high school and has always been very antisocial, but he joined some clubs after school and met a few really good ones that shared his interests. When I was in high school I had a lot of friends, but I don't even talk to any of them anymore (maybe only one or two). When I started working I really got to know a lot more people.. and I wasn't restricted to only meeting people my age. Besides, high school is too much of a popularity contest and it is really hard to know who your true friends are often times.

I have found that when you concentrate on making friends, you will seldom find a friend. But if you just go about it, be yourself, communicate with people, friends will just sort of gravitate to you.
I think the most important thing to getting good friends, is just to be yourself, whoever it is you are. I have acted fake to get a friend and it only lead to an acquaitance.

just be yourself.
being a teenager is a rough time.
and if people can not appreciate you for who you are..then they wouldnt be good friends anyway.
it took me forever to make friends in middle school/high school.
i'm shy and i wasnt the normal kind of person.
but they'll come around.
and they will be the best ever.
just give it time.
and give it all that you got.
and most of all: BE YOURSELF!
Good Luck!

Go out and try talking to kids your own age. I know it's hard at first, but you'll start to feel more comfortable. There are some kids that are very friendly and outgoing. Try to meet people.

Just be your self. Stay out of trouble unless you are looking for attention. Being a teen isn't that hard. You will be able to make friends...just don't be weird.

Hey, if you sit over there alone it's not gonna happen so fast! Get your panty hose out of that knot, find someone you'd like to be friends with and rock on! Go talk to them! They're just as afraid to go to you as you are to go to them... Someone's gotta do it, right? Everyone deserves fab friends- you, me, and everyone else!

Introduce yourself to everyone. Big thing is confidence, so what if some people don't like you, if you talk to enough people, you'll find plenty of friends.
