Upon completing the Nursing program, you will have to work in med-surg. for at least a year before any children's' hospital will hire you... It helps if you have ICU experience before applying at any childrens hospital.. so you might want to work in the adult ICU for about a year after your one year experience in Med. Surg. Good luck.. ~Sparklez~

Forget about specializing, your main concern is to obtain a BS degree in nursing and passing the nursing board test to be registered, then you can worry about the rest of what you want to do.Don't put the cart before the horse.

Sounds like a good plan........first get your BS in Nursing, then specialize in the field of your choice. You should earn top dollar after you get some experience. Best of luck to you......study hard !!!!

Why not become an assistant to a pediatrician. You should find out the requirements for something like that.

No not for college. The hospital/Dr's office you work for may require some extra education once your hired.
