Most of the people answering your question have no idea what they're talking about. The price is the same no matter where you buy it because Apple does not allow retailers to discount the price of iPods. Some retailers may throw in extras, such as accessories, however, the price of the device itself is always the same. The only time you'll see price variation is if you're talking about used, refurbished or discontinued models.

I would first look on craigslist then just go to the store. If you are a student you can get a 10% discount at an apple store.

Try www.Vanns.com. The 4gb is about ten dollars less than stores, with no sales tax or shpg. Watch out on other sites for reconditioned units...a gamble.
