Chuck, I have to put your question on my watch list. I have wondered the same thing. I tell you, when I am getting dressed, I often times wear garters and thigh highs, I almost get attacked before leaving for work.

Because stockings make a girls legs look so much better than they do when bare, so slippery when touched. Also, you don't have to fight with them like you do with pantyhose when you get into an intimate situation. They never get in the way! The guys seem to love the little patch of bare skin between the stocking tops and the garter belt. Bare legs or pantyhose just aren't the same.
I wear them to work because they are more comfortable for me than pantyhose, yet i am still amazed at how a guy reacts when ht finds out I am wearing them. I often wear them under jeans in the winter, and when they put a hand on my thigh and feel the garter strap they go int cardiac arrest.

I wear a garter belt and stockings to the office every day because I can't stand being confined to pantyhose like a stuffed sausage so long. I have noticed that guys always associate stockings and a garter belt with sexual activity, but I assure you some of us girls like to wear lingerie including a garter belt and stockings under our everyday attire. They are feminine, and it is really not professional to go around with bare legs.
Maybe a used car salesman in Flordia can get away with no socks and lofers, but try selling a business contrract in Boston that way. Unless you are a Yacht salesman, it just isn't done, and the same goes for women. Professional dress includes hosiery, not just suits. I wish more men realized it is juat a way of feeling feminine and well dressed, not a just a come on!

I think part of it is because there's a "naughty" factor in lingerie...particularly garter belts and stockings. It's sort of like role-playing. The woman might not be naughty in real life, for example, she works at a bank or takes care of her kids all day, but when she's wearing pretty lingerie, there's a different side to her personality that the guy is seeing. Anyway, I'm all for it! Whatever keeps the couple happy... :)

It is a signal that the girl wants sex.
Lingerie is usually in a forbidden territory, under a girls clothes. The soft and sexy presentation is erotic visually. Taking it off slowly just accentuates the experience.
Guys do not obviously wear soft clothing, but the sensation, feel and smell is different and erotic in that way.
The garter belts and such is not terribly erotic to many, it is a carryover from the old days and is still a residual from old men's fantasies that younger men have seen and may get a rush over too. It doesn;t do much for me..it just looks like a stripper act.
The soft satins, a silky chemise and removing the stocking IS erotic to me tho. Taking it off slowly is one of the best foreplays that a girl can offer.

Don't know about they other guys but here's my feelings on the matter. First garters and stocking. Some guys find them sexy for me it wasn't the visual but makeing love to a woman with stockings on. Skin to skin is nice but the silky feel of stocking rubbing aginst you is a whole different experience. Now I prefer to have a woman wearing sexy underthings at the start ( won't stay on long). Example I went with a young lady who wore a shear nightgown in pale pink with nothing under it. She stood in frount of my fire place with an arm on the mantle blacklite by the fire in a dark room. Now we never did anything but make out that night but 40 odd years later when I think of her its that image I recall. To me the sight of a naked woman right off is ho hum seen it before but if she takes the time to cover her body a little then its a whols different ball game.

well what i personally think it is is that the guy was just trying to make a move on you saying that something you wear is sexy and that not all guys generally like stockings BUT a reason why guys can like stockings and garter belts is that those things tend to show that the girl wants to have sex at least sometime, like the way thongs and black panties and tattoos do, their just signs.

What you just done by putting on those items and displaying them is created a mood. You have just non verbally told your man that you are ready to get kinky and have some fun (not the same 'ol hump and sleep). It doesn't matter the style of lingerie. If I see my wife in just a t-shirt....she created an animal. Its all about the mood and what you are telling you man without speaking.

Because they really make you look classy ans sexy at the same time. I wore them to my prom this year, and all the guys that found out, even a week later were asking if I was wearing my stockings. I stated wearing them under my jeans now that it is cold and they still go crazy.

Simple enough -- often it's what you don't see but is suggested is much more exciting that just the straight goods (think icing on the cake, love the icing!).
That said, it's also a clear message of, "I am available and ready."
A glimpse at the thing hidden is fascinating -- I think this is true for everyone.
