i finally was able to move on i think, from a past relationship. my heart doesnt jump with joy whenever i see his picture and i wished him the best with his new gf. he said he loved me as a friend and i still am his best friend. i think il be able to handle it.
i have a date for new year and am managing it well. but somewhere i think, i still want to be with him, and i know i will end up being with him. maybe its bullshit, cuz my i wouldnt put my self respect on the line here. but maybe...
its like i left a part of me with him.
should i wait for him? or do i just put on a dazzling smile and forget about it?

It's best to move on with things like that. It'll make you feel better. And if he ever wants to get back with you, then great.

Put on your smile and best duds and get out there. You have a date, why make him suffer.... He asked you out, cause your a great person and he wants to be with you.
You will not remain good friends with your ex, it will kill you emotionally. You need to step away from the box girl, deal with the hurt once and move on.
Sometimes a relationship stays in your heart forever, the good times and emotion you shared, but that is all it will be.
Trying to stay close to him when he has chosen another will devastate you.
Why on earth are you hanging onto someone who doesn't want you??? God, aren't you worth more than that....... What do you tell yourself???
Don't try to convince yourself he wants you, he doesn't and it will never be. People are ex's for a reason, he has grown and you have grown, it can't work, no matter how hard you try.
It is time for your next experience in life, so that you can grow as a woman and be ready for true love when it knocks on your door.
Get out there, have a great time tonight and show your date, he made the right choice asking you out. LIVE......

Girl you HAVE NOT moved on! He is keepin' you hangin' on! By telling u he loves you for a bestfriend. That way he has you on the side if things don't work w/ new GF. Go on & live your life with a dazzling smile and wait for him to come to you!

MOVE ON!!! oh boy. I get how bad the depression can get but seriously you need to cut all thoughts about the person making you unhappy off. Find other ways to occupy your mind. Later you will see the bad feelings are just a waste of time. Yes you are allowed to feel sad but try to keep the sadness as short as possible and move on.

You actually answered your own question. You stated that your heart does not jump with joy when you see his picture. So now you need to move on with your life as he most likely done. Broken hearts are hard, but you will recover. when you do you will feel that joy in your heart once again.

don't wait for him, if you two were really meant to be together then you can go on and live your life and you two will meet again someday. if it wasn't meant to be you still need to live your life. you and your date should have a great time if you don't think about this guy. so put on the dazzling smile and have fun.

Don't put your life on hold for him. Don't wait for him.. go out and date, see what else is out there. It's possible you could find someone in the process that turns out to be much better for you. But if you two are really meant to be together it will happen without you forcing it. Good luck!

Your last relationship is the only one you really can compare anything to, so of course your still thinking about him. Just give it time...you're doing great. Have some fun tonight! Happy New Year!

Don't wait for anyone except yourself. Be forgiving of yourself and use time to heal. You let him go now it's up to him if he wants to come back.

Don't waste your days wondering if he will call, or drop by or is thinking of you. Do things that you want, and if he calls? Then great. If not, nothing was lost.

Fresh year-start fresh.Remember it takes at least a month for every year you were together to move on.
