Brian, Shaz is incorrect!!
I've worked in Human Resources and a company legally can disclose the reason for terminating an employee. However, they cannot legally disclose anything that is considered opinion ("this person is a rude employee"), but they can disclose factual evidence ("this person received several customer complaints")
So, I do agree with the other person, can you get a letter of recommendation from someone you worked with? It will help you if you can.
Think of it this way. Let's say you put down what Shaz suggested and tell them you were laid off and they contact your former employer that fired you. The employer tells them you were terminated. You now have falsified your application. Worse yet, if they were to hire you and they find out you lied on the application about why you lost that job. They can terminate you for falsifying your records.
Your best bet is to come clean and state that you made a mistake and what you have learned from that mistake (not "that I learned not to get caught", but "I've learned not to do that again"). And explain how you will prove to your new employer that you won't make this error again. Employers are willing to give a person a try if they show they can learn from their past mistakes.
Good luck to you.

Yes, getting fired is a set back but you can find employment at another company
You have to be honest with yourself regarding why you got fired, and is it a behavior/habit that you have to correct to make yourself marketable. And between now and that interview you have to make progress so you don't repeat that behavior/habit.
So when you have this next interview and the interviewer asks why you left your job, you can say something like, "In my last job, I did X which was not one of my strengths". However, I've done Y and Z to improve myself in this area -- through [name the activity].
Good luck finding that next job!

Dude, Yes it will if you put them on your application. I really need to know what you did. You said you didn't steal, it was something small. What a pen? Fess up what did you do? How long were you at said job. If not long don't put on application. If you were there for a long time you have no choice but to use them. Is there anyone who can wright you up a reference from that job. A friend perhaps that works there would be helpful. AGAIN what did you not steal?

Of course you will get another job. Millions of people have been fired from a job and a lot of times end up with a much better one. Good Luck to you and Happy New Year!

Indeed you can. You have to have a good story as to why you got fired, what you learned and how you are plan to avoid making the same mistake in the future. If you have something to offer to some business that needs that you are offering and can sell and market yourself and it to them compellingly, you will be able to find another job.

Of course you can!!!!!
It can't affect your job interviews as your former employer can not/should not disclose the reason for leaving, they are only supposed to verify dates of employment.
If a future employer asks why you left, dont say, 'I got fired." be creative and say "layoffs", or something like that.
Good luck...
