I read that he is taking some time off. He has thought about leaving to pursue other characters. However it will not be this season and will not be abruptly.

I heard he's leaving for 4 weeks but he'll be back
here's the summary for the 1/4 episode:
-Catherine testifies in a murder trial in which a man is accused of murdering his own mother three years ago, but the suspect is found not guilty. Catherine, however, believes he did commit the crime and that he may also have killed two other people, so she sets out to find the other victims. Grissom prepares to leave on a four-week sabbatical.

he's ending next season & then leaving. i think of the storyline will tutor him leaving to be with Sarah.. each and every tutor is going by way of this is bumps of forged contributors leaving. It replaced into concept that ER could fold whilst George Clooney left. It did not & remains on the air. i will nonetheless watch in spite of if Grissom leaves. this is gotta be greater advantageous than CSI: Miami anyday!

His contract for this years only requires him to be in about 1/2 the shows this season. The writers chose to have him accept a temporary teaching position ans take a sabbatical from his job. It is a way for them to explain his absence from the show but still have him come back.

Yeah. It's supposedly a sabbatical, but I wouldn't look for him to return.
Too bad. He's the reason I watched it.

And there's another program I can cross off my "must-see" list. Without him, the program won't be worth much.

I hope not, he IS the show. I cannot imagine the show without him. That would certainly bring the ratings down. Please, let it only be a rumor.
