Indian polity is heading towards a systemic collapse, where the anti-social elements have taken complete control over the polity. A total revolution with a view to cleansing all walks of our life is the crying need of the hour. For such a revolution, to take place, the initiative will have to come from the educated middle class. Till then, I do not think the educated will dare to evince interest in politics.

Every body want to try the routine path and nobody want to try the new or slight diffrent way as politics. Because in politics you earn money, everybody will say he is not a good person as he entered a mudspot. And so on.....
Until your way thinking is not changed you can not think that politicians can do something good or encouraging. If i am engineer and i'm thinking that politician should do some work for me, what do you mean that the politician should come to your workplace and try to help in lifting the engines. so that way we all think.
if you want some new blood in ourpolitical arena try to support the new young politician who will be out of us and not an outsider e.g. chinese or brazilian

Current political stage is full of so many crooks, criminals and what not, that educated and cultured people are hesitant and scared to enter it. Some of those who dare to enter it, find it impossible to proceed unless they also become corrupt and follow the foot steps of others. I had high hopes on Subramanyan Swamy. Being an ex-IIT prof, I thought he would bring a desparately-needed change. But he has become a henchman to Jayalalitha.
