Are the banks in the US opened on New Year's Day?

No Banks are not open. The Federal Reserve Bank is closed and when it is closed, then banks are.

Banks in the US are not opened on New Year's Day however the financial institution that I work for has locations in the local malls so the one's in the mall will be open New Year's Day. Those locations are open mall hours including Sunday. Great place to bank. :)

I'm pretty sure they're not open. Well my bank isn't open on New Years Day.
