I'm wondering if wearing a vest with a suit is still fashionable

the vest's color matches the suit in fabric and color (of course)
it has buttons down the front

just to clear that up

I will also be wearing a tie but not overtop the vest

thanks

I don't think vest will ever go out of fashion. What you need to do is create your own style. Put it on, look in the mirror, if you like what you see, walk out the door, hold your head up high and put a smile on your face. Before long everyone else will be wearing a vest. Be a trend setter, dont' worry about fashion, concentrate on style.

I'm guessing this is strictly a black-tie type thing, lol=P Although the description has way too much goin' on! The most current way to wear a suit these days for guys, is to probably skip the bowtie altogether & keeping it simple by just pairing slacks with a crisp white shirt and a vest.

Very much so. A vest is still fashionable with many different things. If you prefer, you may wear a different colored vest with a blazer or sportcoat. If the vest is the same color as the suit, it will be appropriate. Just remember to go with your gut, if you do not like it, don't wear it. If you like it wear it!

While it may not be the latest, trendiest fashion, a three-piece suit always shows the wearer to have class and style.

I actually think that it looks rather cute and classy, like an englishman, but I think that they are still in fashion and that won't change!!!

Good Luck
