Well there is this myth that states that older generations built a more reliable and dependant generation. However i here by disagree. I have never been pampered in life.. never been spoon fed by a golden spoon. I bust my butt to work and go to school. Yet, Middle aged men and women point their fingers in my face and tell me .. that WE are SPOILED. What they dont realise is that back then (20-30 years ago) life was much easier, and cheaper.
Yeah i know that alot of 20 year olds are still living with their parents nowadays .. but its not because we are spoiled . it is because living life got expensive. Realstate prices went up teh roof, and salaries did not increase propotionally. NOW are we really spoiled babies?

I am the mother of a 24 year old son. He had everything he needed and most of what he wanted. I don't think that I spoiled him at all. At twenty four he is happily married and owns his own very successful business. I think that the older gen ration(70's) and up like my daddy who was born during the depression, feel like young folks these days have material things and put too much emphasis on those material objects. You sound like a level headed young man and a hard worker. Don't worry about what others think especially those who don't know you or how hard you work for the things you have.

For the most part, yes, I think they are. Ever since the evolution of the credit card, people go out & buy what they want, regardless of whether they have the cash to pay for it, and this includes whatever their children want. It's the instant gratification generation, which is sad in many ways. Too many people going under, not so much respect and/or pride for what they have earned the right to buy. Makes a person wonder where it will all end.

I would have to say that MOST not all of to days kids are spoiled. But we cannot necessarily blame the kids for that. We as parents have to take partial blame. Adults work hard for their money and spend to much time at work trying to make enough money to keep up with the kids wants. I applaud all parents who have stood their ground by not buying the kids a cell phone, put a TV in their rooms, and keep the computer in an area where they can see what is going on. I also applaud parents who still lay ground rules and expect that the children follow them.

Most americans don't have a clue, young or old. They are mostly all so engulfed in self satisfaction and gratification. 95% of the real world's peoples live outside its borders. 80% of them never even dreamed of having the luxury of being able to ask such a question. Today's american kids are spoiled you bet, don't have a clue.

Too Much. If I were living in my grandmother's era I would be cooking for my 9 brothers and sisters while my father is picking tomatoes in Buffalo getting payed a nickle per hour.

I wouldnt be sitting here on my butt.

I agree with you, we are NOT spoiled. The youth of today is just vey different of the youth of yesterday; and the youth of tomorrow is going to be very different than today.

they're being offered off via mum and dad who do not care. seems too many mum and dad come to a determination it somewhat is extra convenient to offer them each and every thing they want than to make the attempt, potential and prefer it may take to instruct them discipline, manners and duty. Its no ask your self that they strengthen as much as be egocentric, annoying adults without authentic vanity. each and every era has had its annoying cases, so your reason "some" say young little ones deserve each and every thing, is unquestionably bogus! all and sundry who thinks it somewhat is basically too lazy or inept to enhance their little ones.
