Cold water and wash them by themselves.

I learned this the hard way at an Air Force school when I made my underwear pink by NOT using cold. That is not the preferred color for male sergeants.

Use oxyclean type product in the wash every time and the color that does come out will stay in the water, not transfer to another article of clothing. You can wash all dark clothes together. Then a load of mixed, dark clothes with white on them and the like, then whites. Use cold water to wash. Water should be at about 60 degrees for cold water. If your water is colder, start the washer on warm and switch to cold when the tub is 1/4 - 1/3 full. Hope this helps!

Put 1 cup of vinegar on the washer while washing the red shirt. After that, let it dry and wash it again and the bleeding will stop.

anytime I get clothing that is a bright color I soak individually each one in either salt water or vinegar and water to set the dye. After setting the dye, I wash on very gentle cold water only with the same color clothes and hang to dry....

Some colors run and theres nothing much you can do about it. Just make sure you wash red clothes separately.

If they can be washed in hot water, do that - BUT read the label, most you can't do that with.

Things to try if you can't: 2 cups vinegar will set most dyes on cotton and wool (natural fibers)

1 canister of cream of tar tar will also set color.

Red is one of the worst for running and fading... They still haven't (in 135 years) perfected a chemical dye for it...

You probably can't. If it's not color safe already, it'll just lose dye each time you wash it. I hope you are washing it separately and in cold water.
