I don't think it matters whether or not you are alone on new years. This is the first year i am completely alone (26) and I have to be honest I am a little sad about it. I had plans with my ex and we completely ended whatever we were trying to resolve and concluded it was over. I guess it is another day but I'm hopeful and optimistic that this year will be a good one. Take a shower, get into comfortable clothes, get out a movie and pour the champagne....maybe this is a good thing for us, an opportunity to get to know who we are and what we want for the new year!

Guess a sex and the city quote would do well here......happy new year!
"Later that day i got to thinking about relationships. There are those that open you up to something new and exotic, those that old and familiar, those that bring up lots of questions, those that bring you somewhere unexpected, those that bring you far from where you started, and those that bring you back. But the most exciting, challenging and significant relationship of all, is the one you have with yourself, and if you find someone to love the you you love, well that's just fabulous!"-Carrie

I'll be alone too. My family is going to sleep early and I live in the middle of nowhere. So, not doing much this year!

I don't think it really matters whether or not you are alone. It is not going to affect the rest of the new year or anything like that. Technically, it IS just another day. However, although it doesn't matter, I still think it's more fun to be with people to celebrate.

Maybe next year...

Join the club, I' am spending New Years alone, too. Basically, it is just another day but its fun to reminisce about the year and party with your family and friends. But New Years is worth celebrating if you are with people or alone.

Yep, just another day. I wish I understood all the hype, just a lame excuse to go out and get wasted. Personally, I think it's a good night to stay home & let the crazies run amuck..there are 364 other nights to go out for the rest of us.

I'll be alone. The cat and I are taking down the Christmas tree. Later, I'll have a glass of wine and he'll have some tuna juice. I'm cool with it. I don't know about the cat. I'll have to check. He's neutered, so I know he doesn't have any big plans. God bless you in '07 and keep you in his care. LOL

Like the 4th of July and St Patrick's Day, New Years Eve is AMATEUR NIGHT. Tonight is when a bunch of people who dont usually party go out and party. It's overrated and overcrowded. Chill out at home and have fun. Happy New Years!

I think it's all superstition. Back in the day, having someone around at midnight meant you wouldn't be alone and would have lots of friends through the coming year

It matters since I've celebrated by myself since I was born. I wish I could party with friends on New Years, but I don't have an invite nor a friend to celebrate it.

I don't think it really matters. I'm spending it alone as well. I think it really is just anoter excuse for people to have the day off.

No such luck. My depressed, whining husband will be here too. I wish I got half the personality he uses at work. Instead I get the whiny, sniffling other side. I'd much rather be alone.
