I think, the so called "System" or Society expects more from people than what people can handle. With in the last 150 years we have had dramatic changes as a humanity, especially the North American Continent. We now work through all four seasons. We have ignored our bodies and our natural sleeping paterns. We are expected to produce 24/7. The media pumps, sex, products, and fear into our minds. Pot is only seen in the value of money by the so called "caring and incessant" government.
You know what I have to say sister?, it may be considered an addiction by some, but smoke freely. You have done nothing nothing wrong by me, the system is just "F"ed up and they expect to much from common people. I have my own releases and have dam good reasons to have them. I am native American and we use Pot for medicine, mental, and spiritual healing. It's about jumping over the psychological barrier of owning a licence......thank you, dam good question.

Your question is not stupid. Glad that you ask.
There's nothing wrong to get high as long as you don't injure or kill others. If there's no victim, it's not a crime. Sometimes the laws can be wrong, and we need to change them for the better, by voting carefully. For instance, a law might prohibit people from going to church (in the old days of China).
There're many ways to live your life. Church and family are fine. Getting booze and high is also fine. People enjoy different types of pleasure. You're a mature person. Go with your heart.
The family lifestyle is also expensive. According to the US Department of Agriculture in 2003, a parent needs to spend $230,000 per child, including the medical and educational expenses, to raise the kid properly. The family responsibility is similar to any addiction. Once you get in, it'll be hard to get out.
Ask yourself what you would really enjoy. Don't let others tell you that you need a family, a church, alcohol, or drug to be happy. You're the best person who can tell what feels good to you. Do what you'd love to do and feel good about it.

It's legally wrong in most situations, but I guess it ultimately depends on what you view right and wrong. But from the fact that you're looking to get high, I suspect something else might be wrong. Going out and looking to get f***'d up is not a good thing. But then again, I get feelings sometimes that all I wanna do is escape this world for a bit so. Just don't make it a habit and be able to function, get through school, work, etc., thats when it's really wrong, when you become an addict.

Wanting things is fine... It is in the actual doing where we run into moral and social and even legal problems...
You can want... until you're blue in the face... Nothing wrong with that. Desire is the strongest, most defining condition in humanity.
But then again, only a pot head would ask a question like this.

It sounds to me like you're looking for a way to escape. My personal opinion is that alcohol is much more dangerous than weed however, weed is illegal and that's another problem. I suggest you look inward to see why you want to escape instead of facing your life head on. It's the beginning of a new year. Maybe it's time for some resolutions?

Alcohol and illegal drugs will eventually give you the same result. You will ruin your life and will ruin your families life also. The drug addict/alcoholic not only destroys his life but everyone who care and loves him. It is a terrible thing to start and a very hard thing to stop. There is so many things you can do to make yourself feel better. Try helping others, going to church, doing volunteer work, and the list goes on and on. Once you make the choice to do drugs, you will forever change yourself and your life.

Getting high is wrong and physically self-abusive. Moral issues with it depends on the culture, context, and religion. To me, it's a waste to allow a chemical to take over ane hook you to a fleeting sensation of euphoria that should be able to be found through legal, non-harmful ways.
