I know someone who has a small pomerian dog that lives only outside in weather that gets below freezing. The dog has no shelter except a cardboard box with a u-haul blanket. What would you call this kind of person?

"homeless".... i would throw this incredibly stupid person outside to sleep in that box for one night and see what it feels like.

It does not really matter what I would call this kind of person and the community guidelines prohibit me from expressing my opinion freely. However, what kind of person are you going to be? Here is an opportunity to do the right thing and call the authorities in your area so that the suffering dog might be rescued. Let's all be able to call you a rescuer of defenseless animals and not worry about the loser who does not know how to love and protect his/her own animal.

I would call this person cruel. If you want a dog it shouldn't be something that you get bored with and lock outside especially if the weather is bad!!!

I wouldn't call them anything, I'd simply call either the police or your local animal shelter/enforcement. People like that need to be reported, if we sit back and do nothing we're responsible for the continued suffering of the animal in question :(

Abusive.
Call your local animal control, and report a dog living under intolerable conditions, and be as specific as you can be, including the name of the owner, when they are home, and where the dog is located (backyard, sideyard?)

i would call the person cruel and heartless and i would definately call an animal shelter or something on them although that might not be the whole story. there might be more to it then that but i seriously doubt not and would either talk to this person about it or turn them in.

certified vet tech here . they are negelctful owners and you should call animal control or patrol and have them check on the animal have several different people call as well . it will make them pay attention . its sounds wrong to me . there dog does not have the coat its needs to keep warm in the winter . sure it will keep them warm in moderate cold but not in freezing cold . so call if you are really that concerend
