Prune juice will definitely alleviate constipation and a diet with a lot of fiber (wheat bread, bran flakes, lettuce) and no cheese will help to prevent it.

Well, if this is for an adult, you can try eating spicy food. Or you can drink lots of prune juice and eat popcorn. High fiber liquid and food helps with constipation. Remember to drink plenty of water to ease digestion. If these things don't work, buy a simple over the counter laxative and take it as directed. Again, drink plenty of water. Exercise helps with digestion, too, go for regular walks after dinner or especially after a large meal. Good luck with the tummy!!! Happy NY!

What works for me:
1) 3-4 prunes, I put them in hot milk, leave them there for few hours and eat them + drink the milk - works really good for me.
2) Prune juice from Walgreens is very good
3) In the morning, eat 1 or 2 ripe Bartlett pears on EMPTY stomach

Prunes work. They taste pretty good too. Make sure you're getting plenty of fiber too. Sit yourself down with a bowl of cereal, something high in fiber. Dice up a couple prunes, throw them on top and have a nice filling, good for you snack. If that doesn't help call your doctor. He/She will be able to give you a stool softener.

Hope this works for you

*First of all if you drink homo milk, change it to 2%. Homo milk makes me constipated.
*Babies use this but i guess you can too. Its painfree. Go to a pharmasist and ask for laxatives.
*A diet with 20 to 35 grams of fiber daily helps in the formation of soft, bulky stool. While adding foods such as beans, whole grains, bran cereals, fresh fruits and vegetables is helpful in adding fiber to the diet.
*Prune juice is the biggest thing of all

Drink lots of water with the fiber otherwise you will become more constipated!!!

It just dawned on me, you may be asking for your baby! In that case, I used the following for my son: Warm water with a bit of lemon juice and a bit of honey just to make it a bit sweet. It should be mostly water with just a touch of honey lemon flavor. Serve to baby warm in bottle. Worked wonders for my son!

Take care.
