Because by the time you mix that small amount of bubble bath with that large amount of water, the dye is thinned ...try putting some bubble bath with an equal amount of water... it probably would make bubbles the same color as the water , but just a little lighter... say 2 tablespoons of each ...then use it for your bath, don't put the mixture back into the bottle; the water will make it impure

I suspect that it has more to do with the nature of bubbles. When bubbles are created they are mixed with a lot of air. If you look at a big bubble it's translucent, however you do get a multicoloured effervescence on the surface. I suspect that as bubbles are smaller, our eyes make it more difficult to distinguish these surface colours; this couppled with reflected light of all colours being percieved by our eyes as white, the smaller bubbles look white. This would be augmented by the refraction of this white light around the smaller bubbles.

If you had a bath of almost complete bubble bath, it'd be the colour of the bubble bath, but as only a little bit is added, the dye is thinned, as above.

Actually they're beautifully irridescent! But if you L@@K a bit closer the next time, you may notice a slight difference in the hue of the irridescence between them!
