I moved to a new state, and don't have friends here so I sent a bunch of gifts to old friends in my old state a couple weeks ago. Not a single call or card thanking me yet. Is it time to find better friends?

I think that you gave people gifts from your heart, because if it wasnt from your heart you would not even think of them or worry if you receive anything back. Yet I believe the reason why you wanted at least a thank you note or card is because you miss your friends, and you want to see if they still think of you or miss you too. You can keep those friends, and make new friends too. It takes time to make new friends in a new state, so dont give up and dont look desperate about it either. Just like you made those old friends you will make new ones too. If you can, call your old friends, or try sending them a regular post card or letter, and stay in touch, if they dont write back after a few attempts, Im so sorry. Maybe they are too busy, or simply dont want to write back, either way, stay strong and make some new friends that would write you back, even better hang out with you in your new state. take care.

Wow! You must be feeling terribly disappointed right now, but don't fret, perhaps they are just really caught up in the hectic holiday season. You will probably hear from them within a week after January 2nd when "business as usual" starts back; maybe the next week if your friends have children who are out of school.

Also, are you sure that your friends have you new contact info? Perhaps it got lost in all of the tinsel and wrapping paper? Make sure they can contact you before you decide that you've lost all your friends. Good luck and btw - it was really nice of you to remember them - so let me thank you for just being a nice person: so few of those around anymore!!!

When we send gifts it should be from the heart, we should not need anything not even a Thank you. But you should make friends where you are for it can be pretty lonesome with nobody close to you

It's not even the 1st of the year yet. I still have to get MY thank you cards out. I wouldn't be so quick to think badly of people. Give them a chance to get through the new year and get their thanks out, either via a card, email or phone.

Gifts ARE given freely without condition of a thank you, but if you don't get thanks from some ppl, just presume they'd rather not do gifts. Next year remember they shouldn't be on the gift list.

Possibly, but maybe your gifts came late or your friends have been really busy sometimes its hard to remember everyone.

I know how you feel, those types of people have everything, and are non- appreciative!
I gave my boss a bday present (October) and a very nice Christmas Present!-- she never even acknowledged it!

damn if I get her anything else.
