We have the intelligence to fix it. WE created the INTERNET, WE created NUCLEAR BOMBS(though not for good), WE created
COMPUTERS, CARS, ELECTRICITY, REMOTE CONTROLS, TV's, RADIO, so why can't we fix global warming? Or are we just not trying hard enough? Or are we lazy, ingnorant, fools? I think we have the
intelligence to fix it. I just think the government needs to step up to
the plate and FIX GLOBAL WARMING! WE know the CAUSE. WE
know WHY it's happening. WE know the danger. So, WHY
WON'T WE FIX IT?

Well, here's the thought:
CO2 (corbon minoxide, produced by oil companies) is keeping the sun's rays from bouncing back out into space. The oil companies are the main cause, but like some of you said, its all about $$. If any of you watch the history channel, Global Warming is the #1 most prabable cause for Earth destruction (well, not Earth. Humans -__-). Some other sources differ, but global warming is at least #4.

Because people don't want to fix it. I mean I do, and get rid of all our worries, but some people are just being plain stupid, they're wasting energy and wasting so much, and not only that ruining our world, creating global warming. People just aren't thinking much about this situation and think that other people can do it. But the "other people" also don't want to help. Creating our world to become worse. And people heard about global warming but don't really understand it, and think that oh the scientists will find a way to save us, of course Global warming will only be fixed once everyone participates in the ridding of it.
Hope that helps :]

This is something that we can't leave entirely to the government. The catch is, the population has to be willing to change their lifestyles in order to improve the environment. Most of Europe and other parts of the world are low contributors to greenhouse emissions, so it is really up to America to change their habits. Most Americans would rather choose the convenience of their Chevy Tahoes over sustainability. It is a classic case of hubris. We have spent a long time gloating over our superpower status, and we've got the fat guts and oversized vehicles (and homes) to show for it. We need to DOWNSIZE in order to help the global warming situation. Families of 2 people should NOT be driving SUVs and should NOT be living in 3000 square foot homes.
So to answer your question, we need to change our lifestyle in America. I drive a subcompact car and I live in a small house with my small family. I recycle.
The problem is, most people will say "but I can't do those things because I have a large family/ I need more room/ etc." People are not prioritizing their lives, and they are choosing convenience over a future for their children. It's that simple.

Simple answer. MONEY. We have created and economic system which we believe is a god. We will not look at economics as a means to an end but insist that it is the be all and end all.
We humans created the monetery system we should be able to manipulate it to fix many of the worlds problems. But there are to many vested interests that will not let this happen

I spent last summer in the Artic reviewing the effects of Global Warming....
The Governments have sold its labs in the Poles to our universities because they don't want to own the truth to what they (we) are doing to the planet. Global Warming is as real as any problem we have!

I'm not sure if it can be fixed, global warming is the effect of the ozone layer breaking down after being oxidized by chemicals that "we", being the human population of this world put there, so in order to fix it we would need to be able to manufacture ozone and find a way to put it back where it belongs. otherwise no matter how much we reduce the oxidation of the ozone layer there will always be a hole in it, and so global warming will go on.

amen! i just wish we would do SOMETHING. the government is still arguing about if global warming even exists! give me a break, look around, i live in CT and it's still getting up to the 40's and 50's during the day, it hasn't even snowed! the polar bears have just been labeled "threatened" because our government won't face the facts and put them down as "endangered". all i know is, we need to find another energy source!

Many Countries are trying to contribute by cutting down on emmisions which cause the dissipation of the ozone layer.
However I can't help thinking it may be too little too late!

Global warming is a problem by over-population. The over-population requires more energy to provide people what they want and need.

Because the gloom and doom Global Warming theories taught in the public school system don't exist. So there is nothing to fix.
