Believe it or not, "Liberals" don't want to see the U.S. fail any more than anyone else does. We just have different ideas about what is actually happening on the ground and what is realistic to expect out of this situation.

If we pull out of Iraq, no matter what happens, the Islamic extremists will spin it as a victory for them and we will spin it as a victory for us and we will both be preaching to the choir.

That's the catch here. If we stay, people keep dying and terrorists continue to be spawned like rabbits. If we leave, it turns into a PR victory for the terrorists.

Then again, it's PR victory for the terrorists already because everyone in the world already thinks the U.S. is fighting a war it can't win. The only exception is the 28% of Americans who still agree with Bush.

So where does that leave us? That's the question.

Ever heard the saying "up sh-it creek without a paddle". That is the story. We are damned if we do, and damned if we don't. Damn Bush for putting in this position in the first place. I am not sure that overwhelming force that he is deciding on is going to work, it might just spread to a regional war. If Iran was to attack Iraq now I think that we could look for no support from the rest of the Arab world. From the whole world as far as that goes. Maybe we can take a PR hit better then we can take a physical hit. Which ever it is the responsibility of one person for getting us into this mess, an right now he is deciding our future. Scary isn't it.

This question is sums up the whole thing about liberals. Appeasement. They want to appease everyone.

If we pull out of Iraq, the Islamic extremists will consider it only a partial victory. They not only want us out of their lands and out of ther lives, but they consider us to be a sore on the surface of the Earth. They will not stop if we just pick up and leave. They will continue the aggression towards our embassies, American owned companies overseas, and even come to our own shores again. It is not going to stop until we put a stop to it.

The liberals do not see this because they want to follow their poster boy leaders such as Al Gore, the Clintons, and Mr. Kennedy. All of which are just feeding the fire cause they think that they will get more votes out of the deal. Gotta remember who voted to go to war in Iraq in the first place.

This kind of war cannot be one by PR victories by either side. It cannot be one by diplomacy. They have already proven that. Now the liberals need to step aside and let the powers at hand take care if it. It will take a while and people will die, but that is what happens in a war.

Don't make me laugh. You liberals use politics no matter what happens to America. If it weren't for you libs and that includes you allot of our service men would be alive today. United we stand and divided we fall. If you people would have stood behind the war on terror we would probably be out of Iraq by now. The enemy is watching you idiots just like the N Vietnamese did during the Vietnam war. You people don't have any good ideas so all you can do is criticize. Here is a news flash for you. The war on terror wont' ever be over until you kill the people that want to kill you. But OK liberal lets do it your way and negotiate and when that doesn't work who are you going to blame?

I don't want the USA to fail BECAUSE of the Dicatator Dumbya Big Lie Iraqi Crusade. Among other horrible things, the big sucking sound you hear is $2 billion PER DAY flowing from the USA and in large part being stolen by Halliburtion and other crony companies. Down with Dictator Dumbya!!!

Believe it or not, there actually is good news in Iraq, if you know where to look. The violence is actually confined to a few small areas. The vast majority of Iraq is relatively free of violence and not affected by the sectarian strife.

Most of the soldiers there believe in what they are doing, and most actually voluntarily re-enlist to go back. I haven't heard hardly any dissent about this war from troops who are there now, or who have come home. Virtually none at all. I'm sure the press would be all over it if there were. My point is that, if the troops on the ground, who know this situation best, believe this is a worthy cause, then it likely is a worthy cause.

You care more about what "everyone in the world thinks" more than what the actual troops doing the work think. I suggest you get behind the troops and this effort instead of constantly telling them they can't win and are engaged in a worthless cause. It would mean a lot to them and would help them to succeed.

NEWSFLASH; The United States Of America lost the war in Iraq, get over it, bring the soldiers home, it's only a matter of how many American soldiers you are willing to sacrifice. Who wants to be the last American mother or father to lose a child in a useless adventure in stupidity and incompetence. For all those who say the soldiers are for this war, a soldier is compelled by his oath to support the government policy, you cannot speak for them.

Isn't this exactly what Saddam warned Bush about?

you think maybe he was having the same problems controlling his own people?

and by the way, if the terrorists hate us for our freedom, they got their victory with us having less privacy didn't they?

The U.S. failed in Iraq about...oh...4 years ago. Sunni and Shia have been killing each other for 10,000 years. The solution is very simple!

Bring the troop home TODAY!
Send a letter of apology to every sovereign in the world for our hegemony ambitions.
Develop an alternative energy source (Brazil has already done this).
Mind our own busines..

Now, let's watch...football...

Why are liberals so easily intimidated. If we leave the terrorist are going to see it as a victory and embolden them even more. Iraq needs to be ran by the government that ALL the people of Iraq voted in and not just the SHIITE. Who by the way are in bed with Iran. So Iran takes over the country and guess what? The people of Iraq are right back in the hands of a terrorist. The oil will now be controlled by the terrorist, and the whole middle east will be at the beckon call of Iran and the radical islamist. Now I want you to try and prove me wrong on this one. You can't.

It leaves us between a rock and a hard place.

It's the stupid presidents fault anyways for attacking a sovereign state on false pretext.
