My favorite artists are Sam Cooke, Diana Ross, from when I was a child and my mother raised me to Motown R&B/Soul Music. As I grew up in a VH1/MTV/BET Era, of course I grew fond of the Hip-Hop Genre, so of the most talented that I enjoy it would have to be Tupac Amaru Shakur. Not only did he speak on his existence in drug infested ghetto neighborhoods, but he had a passion behind it, was very emotional when he spoke on it, and shed light to many of us growing up in those neighborhoods, that there is a better way out. Because of his passion for the African American community, he is and forever will be the Best Rapper!!!

a singer? probably Judy Garland - if you dont know why you obviously havent heard her sing... hrm, in this time period - Christina A. has an excellent voice and Norah Jones is calming...
an artist? Felix da Housecat - its techno... very interesting, nice beat + wont give me a headache...
a band? The Dresden Dolls - they arent hugely popular, their music is quite funny, they actually have talent compared to the people I hear way to often on the radio...
