What is a good book to learn about rules and plays and such for the "new" NHL? Not so much on how to play it yourself, just on understanding the game.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF THE NATIONAL HOCKEY LEAGUE


Not sure if you can still find it. It's a photo book about March 23rd 1996 when photographers followed every team in the league. A lot of behind the scene photos that you don't always get to see.

at borders there is a book called "NHL" it tells about what is new and old, it's by Scotty Bowman. i bought it and it is a great introduction.

each year the CHA puts out a ref/coach handbook.....that should have all the info you are looking for.
