I use a large variation. Mascara ranges from Neutrogena, Dior, and Lancome. I've got long lashes that curl upwards... for me the brush is the most important part. The fuller but smaller brushes tend to separate and add color. Foundation: Mineral Make-up from Physician's Formula, Neutrogena, and Dior Moisture. Concealer: Neutrogena and Giorgio Armani. With powder, I don't use as often. It makes my skin red from irritation, if I do use it... its Neutrogena Mineral Powder. Shadows range from all the brands I mentioned already, along with Yves Saint Lauren. Eyeliner: Rimmel, Giorgio Armani, and N.Y.C.. Blush: Bed Head, Dior, and Giorgio Armani Bronzer. The days when I don't need foundation, I use a tinted moisturizer and a bit of foundation mixed with concealer under my eyes to cover dark circles.
Personally I'm not a fan of Revlon, Cover Girl, or any of the cheap brands really. They all tend to irritate my skin. Some of the more expensive brands are really thick. I don't care for MAC very much. Their make-up artists are SO heavy handed. I used to use Giorgio Armani wet foundation ($50), but I like the dior much better ($40). It provides the wet look without heavy make-up. Neutrogena and Physician's Brand were the only low-cost brands I had zero problems with. For the matte look, I love the mineralwear foundation from physician's ($9). Its so thin, and it looks like you woke up looking even and fresh.
Its not the make-up brand, its what you do with it that matters. If you know what you're doing (and take care of your skin) you can make cheap make-up look good.

I don't use a specific brand, but have tried many, many brands as I search for my favourites. Plus, some brands cost much more. Don't be fooled by price, however, some make-up items are pretty much the same, no matter how much you pay (like pencil eyeliners) while others do matter if you want to pay more (like foundation).
Here are the brands that I generally use, hopefully it will give you some ideas:
MAC (slightly expensive, but very high grade make-up that has great staying power - my eye makeup stays all day without creasing - many makeup artists use this brand) - foundation/powder compact, blush, eyeshadow base
Rimmel (very inexpensive, so I love to buy this brand when I want to try new colors) - nail polish, lipstick, lip gloss
Neutrogena (slightly expensive, but has made a major difference in my skin texture since I started using it) - cleanser, toner, make-up remover, moisturizer
I also sometimes buy L'Oreal, Revlon and Annabelle when I see some new colour that I like.
I hope that gives you some ideas. One thing to remember is that you should always try to keep your skin at its best - that really helps your makeup look better.
Have fun!

Personally, I have had the best experience with MAC makeup. Even though it is a bit on the expensive side(eyshadows about $12 - $13) , it is worth it. The eyeshadows last forever and they last on my eyelids and they have great colors! I also have a concealer, foundation, and powder from MAC and i have to say that it is great! Even though I have heard that its foundation and powder make you break out even more (and that they do that so you will buy more) I would have to say that my skin looks good and its actually gotten better since i got the 3-step skincare line from clinique.
MAC has the best make up but Clinique has the best 3-step skincare (wash, tone, and lotion) and if you want you can get other things for your skin.
I hope that you find a brand that works for you!

Add some more specifics, like what kind of make up you are looking for, your price range, skin type, what looks you are going for.
The only thing I can really suggest is to try out L'oreal brand mineral power as a foundation, as I use it and prefer it to everything I have tried so far in my many years of wearing foundation. It is very light, and although it can cost a bit more than the standard drug store foundation (I've seen it priced at $9 to $14, but I bought it on sale, buy one get one free). It has so far lasted two months, and is not even half used up, so I believe is it more than worth the price.

I use MAC. The foundation costs about $25 Canadian, it may actually be a little more. I've had one for almost a year now and its not done yet. it lasts forever both in the makeup case and on your skin and so does all of the other mac makeup like eye shadow, liners, blush. They're makeup artists in the stores will match up everything u need so its perfect for ur skin tone. Good Luck:D

bare essentials for natural yet good coverage...not a lot of makeup or shu umera which is a japanese company great for ur skin! clinique is not good...clogs pores and way too drying on the face! MAC is okay...you have to remember that mac is used for photographs and film work because the company started that way so alot of their makeup is thick...if your looking for foundation the studio fix light is good!

Whatever makeup line you choose, you should use only one product line for the best results. Mary Kay is the #1 selling cosmetics for the last several years.

Physicians Formula, it's in the mid-priced range. It's also very good for your skin and they have many options for different skin types.
