I love the name, like the character, but am not a Starwars nut, my husband says thats the only way it would be acceptable to name a child Lando.
Nut is not a bad thing for those of you who might feal offended.

Lando is a fine name, only those who are Star Wars enthusiast will recognize the name from that. I think that maybe your husband isn't that big on the name. The name should be something that the two of you agree on.

I'm not a Starwars nut by any means, yet I really like the name Lando.

The name Lando is seen in more places than Star Wars. It's a nice name. I'd say you were a Star Wars nut if you named the baby something like Anakin or Leia.

You could name him Landon because that is a good name too without being connected to Starwars. If you want to call him Lando as a nickname you then can!

Just pick one that feels right! Congrats!

You could call the kid Orlando and have Lando for short. Never heard of the character and think the name's unusual, but go ahead if you really want. Just be prepared for the possibility of the child being picked on for their name....

How about something close like Landon? I'm not a big fan of the name Lando personally.

Personally, I don't like that name. I like the name Landon, with an 'n', but Lando sounds like an alien. Sorry!

If you want to, though, then go ahead!

Congrats!

I haven't watched Star Wars so I wouldn't have known where you got the idea. Lando, Lando, yeah I think I like it, it's different.

Why? I know someone who named their kid Zion Aniken!

Zion: The city they were defending in the Matrix

Aniken: Aniken Skywalker of Star Wars

And, they aren't really big fans of either of the movies. Lando isn't horrible but Zion Aniken....

you could make is short for Orlando, which means "one who is famous throughout the land". It is also the name of a lot of characters in a lot of books, including some by Virginia Wolfe
