It certainly seems as if that is the truth, especially since the mid-terms. I haven't seen such heel snapping and snarling over scraps since...well...maybe never. I think there were two things that contributed largely to their demise. One, of course, is Bush's War. The other was the onslaught of scandals that rocked their boat. The problem was that they had named their boat "Moral Values" and those scandals sunk it. If they had had the character to admit to the wrongdoing instead of flinging dirt at the Democrats to try and cover it up it might have gone differently for them. Now we're seeing over-the-top garbage like calling everyone who doesn't agree with them a liberal, or terrorist loving, or cowards. I'm an Independent, and I have voted Republican many times in my life. In fact, I will admit to voting for Bush the first time around. But these Republicans? They don't slightly resemble the same type of Republican I voted for, say back when I voted for Ronald Reagan. It seems as though the Democrats are finally starting to come together again and the Republicans are sinking like the Titanic.

As opposed to the unfounded intolerance from the left? Both sides are in trouble. The GOP is in trouble because they have manged to completely bolux things up and is becoming the tool of the religious right. While on the other hand the left continues to fail to grasp reality, although they are starting to wise up. The GOP is in trouble because they have become more despised than the DNC and the DNC has finally started offering more centrist candidates and fewer from the far left. The 2004 presidential election was the DNC's for the taking, yet they managed to lose. So between the DNC finally realizing they have to produce candidates that people might actually want (of course that remains to be seen in 2008) and the GOP being royal screw -ups (the DNC didn't win in 2006 so much as the GOP lost), yes the GOP is in trouble.

The unfounded hatred from BOTH wings is a pretty good indication that politicians are grasping at straws.

America deserves better than two highly-financed political parties that spend more time hating each other than they do actually governing the country.

For a country that is supposed to be the most diverse, the "melting pot", "a new nation, conceived in Liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal", it's difficult to fathom that our government, both political parties, would seek to constantly divide the populace.

We're supposed to have a "government of the people, by the people, for the people ... " and instead we have a government "of the government, by the government, and for the government and it's financial backers".

That's not exclusive to the Republicans. Democrats are just as bad.

Maybe you can give some examples of this right-wing hatred, because I'm not really aware of any wide spread right wing hatred. I think most conservatives strongly disagree with liberal policy and believe it is bad for america and bad for the world. I don't hate liberals at all, I just think they are wrong. I don't care for all their vitriolic Bush bashing. I agree that the left seems to be much more hateful than the right. Maybe I'm missing something though.

Hate coming from the GOP???? Come on. What planet are you coming from? Obviously you are one of those people that are trying to post a smart question to look smart, but really have no idea what is going on. You think it is cool to get into politics, huh?

You want to see hate? Look at one of the Dems poster boys, Al Gore. That man is so hateful, he is almost un-American.

Really, you ought to read into things and watch a few videos and see where the real hate really lies.

The GOP will rise again. Hell if the Democrats let Hilary Clinton run for president, the GOP will keep the White House in 2008.

Nobody is in 'trouble'. It's all small stuff but the left wingers have media support, the bully's own the networks, they keep hammering about stupid stuff. Of course if it's one of their own people they bury it.
Normally, people would tell a person whining like that to just go find a hole to bury themselves in because they are so disagreeable to others. But now the PC police are out to get anyone that would dare say that out loud.. its like living in the USSR.
