I don't think that there was any one main song. The whole movie was a musical. The main love song was called I will always love you. It was song by Dolly Parton. (Later remade by Whitney Huston).
Artist: Dolly Parton
Title: I Will Always Love

If i should stay
Well, i would only be in your way
And so i'll go, and yet i know
That i'll think of you each step of my way
And i will always love you
I will always love you
Bitter-sweet memories
That's all i have, and all i'm taking with me
Good-bye, oh, please don't cry
'cause we both know that i'm not
What you need
I will always love you
I will always love you
And i hope life, will treat you kind
And i hope that you have all
That you ever dreamed of
Oh, i do wish you joy
And i wish you happiness
But above all this
I wish you love
I love you, i will always love

I, i will always, always love you
I will always love you
I will always love you
I will always love you

I hope this is what you want.If you need any other song lyrics this is a really good place to look them up http://lyrics.astraweb.com/

The movie is about a whorehouse in Texas run by Dolly Parton as Miss Mona. Burt Reynolds plays her sheriff lover, Ed Earl Dodd, and Dom DeLuise as the reporter Melvin P. Thorpe.

The story, set in Gilbert, Texas, concerns a brothel a little outside of town that has been operating for more than a century. In the late 1970s it is under the proprietorship of Miss Mona Stangley, who, while taking care of her girls, is also on good terms with the local sheriff, Ed Earl Dodd. When a crusading television reporter, Melvin P. Thorpe, "uncovers" the illegal activity (that is, makes an issue out of something that is common, but quiet, knowledge in Texas), political ramifications cause the place to be closed down.

I can tell you this. This is the movie that almost ended Dolly's acting career and all but busted the career of Burt Reynolds, who didn't recieve 'superstardom' again, ever! The movie was a disappointment and a bomb at the box office as well. Would make a good double feature with 'Rhinestone', the bomb she made with Sylvester Stallone...LOL!

'Whorehouse' is basically the cast of 'Smokey & The Bandit 2' trying to do a musical...lol They needed Dolly for credibility, but it just wasn't enough to save it.

its a fun musical narrated by the deputy ( Jim Neighbors) its about the madame of the house, the sheriff of the town are a couple.then you have a tv evangleist butting his nose into the town's business and it escalates from there. eventually the chicken ranch ( name of the house they explain in the beginging of the movie why its called that) closes and the madame and the sheriff can finally be an offical couple.
it was filmed at Universal studios and the last time i was there the chicken ranch was part of the back lot tour

Well the song that she sings that became famous is called hard candy christmas. Other then that it is a musical about a little whorehouse in texas trying not to get shut down (based on a true story).

Hey, maybe I'll dye my hair
Maybe I'll move somewhere
Maybe I'll get a car
Maybe I'll drive so far
They'll all lose track
Me, I'll bounce right back
Maybe I'll sleep real late
Maybe I'll lose some weight
Maybe I'll clear my junk
Maybe I'll just get drunk on apple wine
Me, I'll be just

Fine and Dandy
Lord it's like a hard candy christmas
I'm barely getting through tomorrow
But still I won't let
Sorrow bring me way down

I'll be fine and dandy
Lord it's like a hard candy christmas
I'm barely getting through tomorrow
But still I won't let
Sorrow get me way down

Hey, maybe I'll learn to sew
Maybe I'll just lie low
Maybe I'll hit the bars
Maybe I'll count the stars until dawn
Me, I will go on

Maybe I'll settle down
Maybe I'll just leave town
Maybe I'll have some fun
Maybe I'll meet someone
And make him mine
Me, I'll be just

Fine and dandy
Lord it's like a hard candy christmas
I'm barely getting through tomorrow
But still I won't let
Sorrow bring me way down

I'll be fine and dandy
Lord it's like a hard candy christmas
I'm barely getting through tomorrow
But still I won't let
Sorrow bring me way down

I'll be fine and dandy
Lord it's like a hard candy christmas
I'm barely getting through tomorrow
But still I won't let
Sorrow bring me way down

'Cause I'll be fine
(I'll be fine)
Oh, I'll be fine

But it I don;t know if it was the theme I don't think so. The song I will always love you first came out in that film as well.
